Say What?

General Curtis Lemay
Reports from Colorado Springs indicate that a very loud spinning noise can be heard from as far away as Castle Rock when the wind is just right.

Further investigation has revealed that the sound is emanating from the grave of the late Air Force General Curtis Lemay.

The spinning began when news filtered out about the "gutless wonders" in the Pentagon who ordered a nativity scene removed from Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. Story here.

The Scene at Shaw

Reminds me of a story a couple of years ago out of Travis Air Force Base in, of all places, California. Where base officials decided to keep their nativity scene and not allow the addition of a suggested atheist display.

Travis AFB, California, 2011

I've seen this sort of thing over the years from time to time. The Constitution is often invoked, usually incorrectly.

Mikey Weinstein and his fellow travelers at the so-called Military Religious Freedom Foundation strike again.

Given the behavior of some of the "officials" in the Five-Sided Puzzle Palace on the Potomac, I'd be surprised if any of our enemies fear us.

It wasn't like this back in the day. While I was no big fan of General Lemay, the man did have guts. Unlike some of our current "leadership". Sad times.

Sad times indeed...

    1. Don't like your comment. Not at all.

Last time you commented, it was close to the edge. But nevertheless a valid opinion. This time you decided that making it personal was a good idea.

      I assure you, it's not.

Consider this a warning. Insult my readers again and you're banned. Your opinion here is welcome, your belittling of the opinions of others is most certainly not.

  3. I'm consistently amazed at the level of intolerance displayed by those who claim to be working for the cause of tolerance.

It's a simple equation, for me. I believe in my God. If you happen to believe in a different God, I couldn't care less what you do to glorify that God of yours. I know mine is the true one. All of your words and prayers and displays are just benign noise, and none of it affects me or my belief. Have fun; I won't rain on your parade. If you don't believe in any God, I'll respect that, too. I'll not force you to worship. However, if you decide that it is imperative to tear down my God in some way, I will fight you to the literal death. This is because I expect you to give the same level of tolerance as I'm willing to extend to you.

    1. It is pretty simple. But progressive thugs don't do simple. They have to demonstrate that they know best.

Which they don't. But don't tell them that.

  4. Well, Sarge, looks like you finally made the big time and picked up your first Troll. And, as is typical of the species, his very first word demonstrates his ignorance.

    1. The commenting thing can be a real drag. Something that works on WordPress won't work on Blogger and vice versa.

There has to be a way! I want to look into the ways, whys and wherefores of the differing commenting options. Then I'll reveal that to the world. But as you say, when I get a few hours...

  7. Ya know, as I reflected on the deleted comment, something occurred to me. Christmas decorations are a tradition and so go up every year pretty much as a matter of course. The commenter lamented that the other religion's traditions were missing. I've got to ask, did any of them ever ask to have something displayed? Did anyone ever ask the base and say, "Hey, next month is xxxxx, we'd like to put up a traditional display". I'm pretty sure no one has, because no Commander in the past 20 years would dare say, no. Additionally, I doubt that most people, there would be some to be sure, would even have a problem with it.

    1. I thought long and hard about how to respond to that comment. I didn't want to delete it, I'm not one to suppress healthy dissent. But Mr Buchanan seemed a bit incoherent in both his language and his logic.Furthermore, while I don't mind folks ranting here, I do mind when they insult the denizens of these premises. I won't have that. Play nice or get sent off, that's my way. Feel free to disagree, but be pleasant to the other members of the Commentariat.

As to what you said, point well taken. What commander would have the stones to say "No"?

Just be polite... that's all I ask. (For Buck)
