Out and About, Semi-Off the Grid

Fort at Number Four, Charlestown, New Hampshire
So, The Missus Herself and Yours Truly will be on the road tomorrow. Heading north we are, into the hills and valleys of my youth. Mother's Day is this Sunday and we thought it would be nice to go up and pay a visit to the Matriarch of our tribe.

The pictures should give you a clue as to where we're going.

No, I did not grow up in the Fort during the 1700's. While I am aged (much like a fine whiskey), I am not that old (nor am I a fine whiskey - more of a cheap hooch really). For what it's worth, Main Street in Charlestown is now paved, most of the trees are gone but many of those fine homes remain.

That's what a hundred years of "progress" gets you. (Though I'm sure the folks back in 1910 would have appreciated the pizza place and the ice cream place we have in modern times.)

Anyhoo, the blog might be kind of quiet this weekend. Maybe Tuna will make one of his wild, madcap appearances and regale you with pithy political stuff. One never knows.

FWIW, I'm quite sure that Monday will be Pythonic.

People have been giving me "ideas."

I will be spending the weekend with my Mom.

For all the Moms out there, have a Happy Mother's Day!

Just be polite... that's all I ask. (For Buck)
