Impromptu Journey

(Source)
While this trip was not in the schedule, it is happening nonetheless. I don't mind, I do rather like Alexandria (no, not the one in Egypt) but I had planned to spend Mother's Day with, ya know, my Mom.

But other duties called and like a good soldier, I answered the call. It's what I do.

So as you're reading this I am probably in the air, somewhere over the eastern seaboard of these United States heading for an airport named for one of my favorite Presidents. I will be spending some time in a city named for another of my favorite Presidents.

While I don't get to see my mother this Mother's Day, I do get to see The Nuke on my birthday. Just like last year. Difference being, there is no massive WWII aircraft flyover this year.

Well, that's alright. I hear those things are expensive.

Posting might be light, then again it might not be. One never knows with these things.

As to plans, Robbie Burns said it best...
But Mousie, thou art no thy-lane,
In proving foresight may be vain:
The best laid schemes o’ Mice an’ Men
          Gang aft agley,
An’ lea’e us nought but grief an’ pain,
          For promis’d joy!
(Seventh verse of To a Mouse by Robert Burns - Source)

Ah, 'tis true.

  3. I would ask which natal anniversary you might be celebrating, but, you have probably reached the stage that I have wherein I emulate Jack Benny each and every year.

  4. Have fun and enjoy.

The older I get the more I realize that embracing gang aft agley is the way to roll.
