The Meetup

In spite of the Cruise Ships best laid plans to interdict the North South Chant Negotiations and Mother Nature's continuing gift of Rain and choppy seas, Sarge and I actually met face to face.

As I am sure he will do an in depth analysis of the negotiations tomorrow, but I wanted to get the record straight before hand.

  1. Sarge is every bit as witty and erudite in person as he is as a blogger.
  2. His Wife married down.
  3. He has threatened to begin driving soon.  (Yes, I've alerted the authorities throughout New England and, just in case, Texas)
  4. His eye looks nearly normal.
  5. Don't believe a word he says about:
    1. Dancing
    2. Snow Suits
    3. Anything else I purported to tell him after he bought me beer
Seriously,  we all had a great time and Sarge and The Missus are no longer "Friends I haven't met yet", just "Friends"

Beans.  No pictures were allowed because of the Top Secret Nature of the Negotiations.  But..In a moment of magnanimity, Sarge quadrupled our wages.

So, we got that going for us....which is nice.

  1. Considering #2 on the list, any of us that have been married a while probably fit the description.

  2. Muesli!

And that's all I'll say about that. Those who know, well, they know.

    2. It took me a while to realize that muesli and mucilage were unrelated, as they were both strange things that only existed at my grandfather’s house.

    5. The ladies had been eating it with fresh fruit for breakfast everyday. I had my usual eggs with lots of bacon. The fruit looked good, so.........

  5. "Sarge quadrupled our wages."

And here I thought I was being generous with OAFS's money in suggesting doubling your wages.

    Thanks for the post.

    1. It would seem more realistic if you offered things like “2% COLA” and “3.5% performance bonus” raises. When you start offering doubling and trebling of wages, the jig is obviously up.

    2. WHAT??? We didnt get a raise? Dont tell Beans. He’s got spears and swords and stuff.

  7. juvat, why would I want pictures of you two buddy-boys getting glared at by your respective wives and the wait staff?

Other than that, glad it finally occurred, looking forward to my munificent funds increasing my stockpile of greenbacks.
