Now.

Guess which bird would be mine...

Yup, we're off to see the progeny, been looking forward to this for several months.

Now we're on our way.

As always, posting might be light.

  3. Enjoy, and give some thought to the CACAGS (Pronounced Cah-Cogs, Civilian Aircraft Catapult and Arresting Gear System) never caught on.
This would have given small airfields the ability to service large commercial aircraft.

What could possibly go wrong with a steam catapult and arresting gear large enough for a 747?

    1. Not to mention the restraint requirements for 400 or so folks in the back, many of which refuse to strap in as it is now.

    2. The problem is the people that don't strap in land on the people who do and use them as airbags. So, probably a net loss in IQ for the species.

  5. Good job on guilting me into posting! :)

Enjoy, relax, torture Lush for fun (remember those airsoft tanks... A night raid into her room with a Panther would get her attention...)

Come back full of stories and photos of strange things on the west coast!

Andrew: Read the above and if you still don't understand my comment, then you are not the person I believe you to be.

    3. Shockingly, sometimes I just don't see the obvious.

So, well, I'll think about what you've said, ponder it, question it upon the very throne of thoughtfullness, and try to figure out what you mean.

      Mind is boggled right now.

  6. The main issue with coming in late to the blog is that all the good comments have already been written. So I shall just write that I echo all of the above, except, of course, Andrew. I shall await the renewed, refreshed OldAFSarge when he returns from his vaca.

    Thanks for the post.

    2. Beans, you "sound" guilty of something.

    3. I always sound guilty. I failed a polygraph, twice, over my name and address.

    4. Ok, I likely should have put my previous comment here, but it's not as if it is that far away.

  7. Enjoy California and its beautiful scenery, marvelous food and wholesome warmth. Avoid any downtown, avoid asking the server at Taco Bell what their major was and above all don't sign anything that looks official. It is probably a Democrat Voter Registration form.

  8. you should have brought your own straws, the really big bore ones some places give out for milkshakes - that would have sent some of the locals in CA into apoplectic fits! They have targeted the little plastic bottles of goop given out by hotels now!

Did you see the article back in Little Rhody about the city council who voted in 2nd amendment sanctuary status along with ripping the state gov't a new one??

Enjoy your trip - CA is beautiful country, just too many wackos that have turned many places into literal sh*tholes!
