Also very much larger than life. Saw him once again, towards the end. He was at a reunion with his Thud Squadron from the war. Except for the graying or lack thereof of hair, they looked and acted like Fighter Pilots. I asked the Bartender what he was drinking. Macallan 12 neat. I noticed a Bottle of Macallan 25 on the shelf. Had him pour two. Best $50 I ever spent.
