Happy Thanksgiving!

Freedom From Want
Norman Rockwell
Source
I have liked this painting for a very long time. The lady putting the turkey on the table reminds me of my paternal grandmother, she dressed very much like this. My grandfather often wore a suit but I don't remember him wearing one for Thanksgiving. He might have though.

No matter where you are this day, I hope you can spend it with people you love. Whether friends or family, those we love make these holidays precious.

Though I can't be with all the people I love this day (that would require a rather large venue), rest assured, I'll be thinking of you today. You know who you are.

Peace and blessings this day.

Love you all.

  2. Happy Thanksgiving to all who read this! May we all be thankful for the blessings of friendship we have found here, and for all of our blessings, even the blessing of tribulation and pain. For those too are gifts through which we gron.

Almighty Lord God, we have gathered this Thanksgiving Day to praise Your majesty and to glorify You and offer our thanks to You for all the blessings You have bestowed upon us, your unworthy servants.
As we gather in celebration and partake of these gifts which You have set before us, we raise our hearts to You and ask You to accept our prayer of thanksgiving, along with the prayers of all the Faithful in this land.
We humbly ask You to continue Your goodness toward us. Grant us Your guidance and grace as we look to fulfill Your Commandments in our lives. Protect us and grant us health, as You are the source of life and mercy. Remember, Lord, our country and all those in public service and grant them lasting peace, that we may live serene lives in all piety and virtue.
Lord Jesus Christ our God, we ask that You bless the food and drink of Your servants; the hands of those that have prepared them; and that You may multiply them throughout our homes, families and the entire world; for to You are due all glory, honor, and worship, as to Your Eternal Father and Your All Holy, Good and Life creating Spirit, always now and ever, and to the ages of ages.
    Amen.
