We tend to use a specific term, flight cap, ball cap, helmet, bus driver or "wheel" hat. I almost got my wife into her Control Room to show her where I worked (she had a claustrophobic attack and nearly trampled me getting out). "My" bunk (shared with two others in rotation ) was in the forward torpedo room.
