Public Service Announcement

For those of you who perhaps didn't know, here is what a pompous, self-righteous, self-important, ill-informed a$$hole looks like.

If you have the stomach for it, you can read more here.

Entertainment types generally pi$$ me off. Why anyone would think that the opinion of some idiot on television has any more weight than anyone else's is beyond me.

Of course, it does go a long way towards explaining how we got our current government.

  1. Ah, geez. I always kinda liked Costas. What in hell did he have to go and do that for? Boo!

    1. Yeah I know. When I heard this crap on WEEI this morning, I could not believe it. I too used to like Costas. (Heavy emphasis on "used to".)

I thought he was getting kind of a big head during the Olympics, but this puts him beyond the pale for me.

  2. I didn't go read because the subject matter was in the link. Apropos o' nuthin'... Yet another good reason to NOT watch the N-Freakin'-F-L. ;-)

    1. Just noticed that, the link pretty much tells the whole story. I guess I was too POed to notice when I wrote the post. And yeah, college football is pretty pure compared to the N-"Hey it's a business" FL.

FWIW, I'm hoping Manti Te'o wins the Heisman. It's been a joy watching that kid play. (Also be nice to see someone other than an offensive player win it. Just my view.)

  3. Sarge, I commented yesterday but my computer is acting up so I think the comment was lost.

Everything has been politicized. You can't even watch a game without getting some guy's opinion on issues that don't relate to the game. Watching a college or pro (sorry Buck) game used to be a way to escape all of the liberal propaganda that's now creeping steadily into escape entertainment: tv shows, movies, etc. Looks like they're sticking it to us in sports too.

    1. Yeah, I saw over at your place that you had the blue-screen-of-death on and off. Good to see you're back up and running.

As to all the liberal crap we're surrounded with, reminds me of scenes in old movies where the guys in the re-education camps get bombarded with political slogans from beat-up loud-speakers 24/7. I typically watch sporting events now with the sound muted. Sucks because I like the crowd noise, most announcers are getting harder to stomach!

    2. Dapper - I wouldn't even rate his rant as anything but a rant. He used his bully pulpit to castigate literally millions of law abiding citizens who just happen to own firearms. Now the fact that it plays into the hands of the 'professional politicians' is a whole nother topic. Plus the fact that he has since doubled down on his inane (or is that insane?) diatribe just drives that much more of a wedge into our fragmented society.
And don't forget that 'nbc' is the same network that did the hit piece on zimmerman and has been 'stellar' in their coverage of Fast & Furious..................

Just be polite... that's all I ask. (For Buck)
