The Day After

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
Today is a new day.

We mourn the dead, we celebrate their lives, we honor their memory.

We offer prayers for those who lost loved ones.

We rejoice for those who survived.

We forget totally, henceforth and forever, the perpetrator of this heinous crime. Its name shall never be mentioned nor its photo shown in these environs. The MSM doesn't get it and never will.

Cdr Salamander says it very well. (As he so often does.)

  1. I texted briefly with SN2 a while ago. The media are saying the Yard is "mission-essential" manning but SN2 has duty. He says it's crazy busy and had no time to talk... but will call tonight.

    Our thoughts go out to the victims and our thanks for the survivors.

    1. I'm glad you had the chance to touch base with him.

      The Nuke will be on travel today. She's making a recruiting visit. Just so happens it's near home, so we'll get to see her for a bit.

      Ditto on your last.

  3. Just making some rounds (which I should be doing more often, and I apologize) and came here after Buck's. I thanked God over there, and do so again here, and express the thought that those who are unfortunately gone from this place will have found Him. I'm praying for the survivors and family, and I concur on your thought about the other person.

    1. Thanks Suldog. The Nuke is actually in NE this week (recruiting) so we get to see her. She's still wondering what it will be like to return to work next week. Knowing what happened there.

      It's going to be tough on the families who lost folks, they'll definitely need all of our prayers!

Just be polite... that's all I ask. (For Buck)
Can't be nice, go somewhere else...
