Alarm!

How work has felt recently...
I am getting my a$$ kicked.

New task. New people. New paradigm.

The task is similar to something I was doing 4 years ago. Some of the same people are still around, but there are a bunch of new people.

The new people brought a "new" paradigm with them.

I am NOT a big fan of the "new" paradigm. It's not much different from something we were doing in the '80's. But someone renamed all the parts and made it trendy.

Oh boy.

There are days when I miss being on the road.

This is one of them.

  1. Paradigm shift is just another way to say change.
We all know how we feel about that.
It's okay if we institute it.
It's fubar when someone else does it...
    ...because it isn't our change.

Doesn't it seem like everyone is trying to change everything at once?

So... if I change my attitude, will it make it better?

    1. You have a point Skip. Change is only good if it fixed something that was broken or if a better way is found to do something.

      Not the case here.

Move along, nothing to see here. (In other words, it's all smoke and mirrors.)

Heh. Back in the day we (my unit at EDS) had a new paradigm almost every other month, which just happened to be when our SSU president got his latest copy of Harvard Business Review. We never really knew which freakin' end was up.

    1. There's really nothing new here. Well, the names of things are new, the concepts, not so much.

(Harvard Business Review, isn't that another name for the Satanic Bible?)

  3. Just wait 10 years, then YOUR terms will be back in fashion... :-)

Of course, I plan to be retired by then. If such a thing is still possible.

Just be polite... that's all I ask. (For Buck)
Can't be nice, go somewhere else...
