Veterans Day is an official United States holiday that honors people who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, also known as veterans. It is a federal holiday that is observed on November 11. It coincides with other holidays such as Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world and also mark the anniversary of the end of World War I (major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect). The United States also originally observed Armistice Day; it then evolved into the current Veterans Day holiday in 1954. W
In some families, being a veteran is a tradition, a calling.

Happy Veterans Day to my brothers and sisters in arms.
I knew you would have a great blog for Veterans Day. Short and to the point. I like that!!! I too come from a family with a tradition of military service. Every generation back to the Revolutionary War has had a Kinion serving in the military but that's what the Irish have always done. I have to admit that during the Civil War, the Kinions served with the South in South Carolina and Louisiana, but they served where their hearts led them. Happy Veterans Day to all and thank you each and every one for your service!!!!

DeletePeople always confused my Dad and I once I got into my fifties. Kinda scary how much alike we look. Our attitudes and temperament were also very similar!
