Shrillary is surging in the polls? Why? Have the masses forgotten all of her bad acts, lies, and deceptions. I guess it really doesn't make a difference to the heathens. (At least I haven't read anything lately about how wonderful Comrade Bernie is!)
Trump in a slump? Carson gaining? Who knows?
Though it was fun to hear Ted Cruz go after those idiot "moderators" in the last GOP debate. Refreshing it was.
Bread and circuses...
One of my favorites blogs is The Diplomad 2.0, a former State Department guy, Lewis knows his stuff. He had this to say the other day. As if I wasn't in a black enough mood to begin with.
Though I don't want to believe it, I feel that unless we do something soon, we will enter a new dark age. Education will be (is now?) designed to groom the masses to be eager and willing minions of a "benevolent" dictatorship. No one but fools will actually work and pay taxes, we can all live off government largess.
Until we run out of all that free stuff.

I sometimes get to feeling the same. Much of the educational day is taken up with politically correct indoctrination, leaving less time for the real lessons - math, history, English and so forth. The level of "education" exhibited by many high school graduates wouldn't have been acceptable to graduate from grade school in my old neighborhood.

DeleteMy grandson is mildly autistic, in the first grade out in California. They "teach" Common Core math which he (and his Mom) are having trouble with. The teacher says there is no time to help him as the bureaucrats in Sacramento dictate that "X" number of math modules will be covered each week, whether the kids understand them or not.
Under the old way of teaching math we put men on the moon. Under the new way I doubt the next generation will be able to make change at their minimum wage jobs should the computers which drive the registers go down.
It wasn't broken, why did they "fix" it?
I have my theories...
I'm thankful my son didn't have to deal with common-core as he would have been lost. Sometimes he just falls back on the basics, which might even include counting on his fingers- which is far too simple to be allowed by common core. Kids think differently, but they want our kids to see things the same. Yes, it's a political circus, meant to entertain vice educate and make substantive changes. The changes needed are hard, so they just want to do as little as possible while gaining as much power as possible.
ReplyDeleteHell, sometimes I fall back on counting on my fingers. It's one of the basics. Some basic things just have to be memorized, there's no way around it. But when The Man is grooming us to work at menial jobs, we don't need no stinking math.

Despite all the forces trying to tear this country down and dumb down the citizens, the country keeps on keeping on. For how long I don't know, but that is does gives me hope.
