Surrender? Never.

The March to Valley Forge by William Trego (Source)
This country has survived hard times and conflict in the past.

Currently we are tearing ourselves apart over political correctness, opinions, and feelings. Across the water there are those who wish to help tear us down, using bombs and terror. They will not, they must not, succeed.

No matter your political leanings, your religious beliefs, or your sexual proclivities (why is that even a thing?) we must all stand together. This is our country, the future of our children and of our grandchildren is in our hands. Now and until we can no longer stand and must pass the baton to the next generation, this is ours.

Let's not screw this up people.

  1. Another great and timely post Sarge.

I was talking to some veterans yesterday who were bitching about civilians being in charge, how they're destroying the military and making bad things happen. I think they forget that the civilians were also in charge when all the good things happened. I wish more people would read and think about the Declaration of Independence. The principles of Liberty are all there, and they all start with recognizing that our fellows are not "others" but ourselves.

    1. Good points Shaun. Civilian control of the military is a key facet of the Republic.

  2. I take comfort that the last seven and a half years has only badly wounded us but not destroyed us. Still hope.

  3. I don't mind differences of opinions, in fact I enjoy discussing politics immensely, except today and for some time now there is no discussing, there seem to be only hate fests. Mention a name to the wrong person and people turn on their heels call you a moron and walk away. Divided we are, and divided we will eventually fall. We do need a uniter...thought we had one...didn't...and there is no uniter in sight.

    1. I think we have to stop looking for someone at the top to "save" us. We need to start appreciating each other for who and what we are. Differences of opinion can be the spice of life. If we all thought the same life would be immensely boring.

Discussion is key. Heck, agree to disagree. But let's all start talking to each other and stop listening to the knuckleheads who've proclaimed themselves to be "in charge."

We need to unite ourselves. If we can, and I think we can.

    4. @juvat -- wonder if the rabbi has ever heard of judge freisler?

    5. Freisler!?! There's a scary name from the past. Good thing old Roland bought it in a bombing raid.

  4. Joe pretty much hit it on the head. It seems that some people are quick to pigeonhole anyone who doesn't 100% agree with their own self-labeling or opinions. Instead of "agreeing to disagree", they just become disagreeable, period. And that's not how best to make a democratic republic work.

    1. Civility is sorely lacking in these times, that's for sure.

Just be polite... that's all I ask. (For Buck)
