I am experiencing the Irresistible Force Paradox first hand.
While I am in the majority, unanimity is required. Half measures aren't allowed.
"Come back tomorrow and continue."
So at 0900 tomorrow, the whistles will blow, we'll climb out of the trenches once more, and advance into the fray.

It's all starting to feel rather futile.
Emotions are not evidence, how one "feels" is not probative.
What part of "reasonable doubt" don't they understand?
I am keen to tell this story. But it ain't over yet.

ReplyDeleteWell, I tend to think of things in terms of combat. With a son-in-law who flies fighters, a daughter who is a WSO, multiple friends in aviation, and the fact that I used to work on fighters. Describing the situation in terms of air combat situations came naturally. The painting illustrates a many v many furball, it just seemed to fit.

Having been foreman on more of my juries than not, I always "TRY" to have everyone "UNDERSTAND" that the judges jury charge is what it is all about. It is not what the lawyers spew. It is not your feelings for or against the defendant, the system, law enforcement who once wrote you a ticket that you probably deserved, and surely not the other juror who sat where you wanted to sit or drank the last cup of coffee and did not make another pot. Really happened. People can be so petty and get on a power trip when they have no life and do not care that you do. Each trial is different and so are the jurors. As Memere used to say, "If your life is simple, so are you". Make sure you take your BP meds and think of all the post just waiting to pop out of your head and onto our screens. Semper Fi...
