Sigh...

Heads were exploding around the United States after President Trump's meeting with President Putin. Liberal heads, even a few conservative heads.

An acquaintance of mine (who leans heavily to port) asked me if we were all ready, "to learn Russian, because we're going to need it." As he laps up everything CNN regurgitates, I took his comment with several grains of salt.

Another acquaintance of mine (this one leans to starboard) was aghast at Trump's performance at the post-meeting press conference. I watched about half of that, and unless the President gave basing rights to the Russian Navy in Puerto Rico, I didn't see much to be concerned about.

But from the howling I've heard across the land, you'd think we just surrendered our sovereignty. Not hardly.

Another acquaintance of mine bemoaned the idea that "the professional diplomats" were seemingly left out of the meeting between these two leaders. Well, I doubt it. Those folks should be behind the scenes working out the details, not front and center making statements.

Sigh...

If the President announced that he had personally found a cure for cancer, there are certain groups in this country who would wail that "he's costing people their jobs in the pharmaceutical industry."

So yes America, the sky is still falling and nothing will ever be right again until we surrender our freedoms to the leftists. After all, their programs are working so well in Cuba and Venezuela, aren't they?

Russia and the United States are not friends, nor are we enemies, we are, as the President put it, competitors. And let's not forget the 800 pound gorilla lurking just offstage...

Both the US and Russia need to keep a weather eye on those chaps. There's a common interest right there.

But no, Donald Trump is the "real" problem.

Sigh...

  1. It makes sense to have leaders who can talk to other leaders. The fact that they have the opportunity to do that from time to time only serves the planet's interests. I find it interesting that there is no discussion of US meddling in other nation's elections, though we spend billions of dollars doing it every year.

President Trump has not been well served by the FBI, and the vestigial Obama appointees who are still out there throwing their cracker in the soup. I can understand why he is reluctant to take their advice...and they are there to "advise", not set policy. They should be providing vetted facts based on multiple sources so that the decision makers can decide. That's not at all what the FBI and a part of the CIA wanted to do. But that's what they're supposed to do.

    And so it goes.

    1. You mean like how Bathouse Barry openly meddled in Israel's elections? Openly? And not a word was said from the talking heads?

      Yikes.

And then there's the 800 pound Chupacabra in the room. What about Mexico's meddling directly in our elections? Si?

Tucker Carlson asked how did all these stupid people get on TV, the real question is how did they get in Congress!

  3. Srs generally retires under a new president, or leader. Except for a Democratic president, or liberal leader. They usually try to choose the "smartest" in office. Now, as I say, look at the attrition rate under this president, did we retain the best and brightest leaders? Or did we get business people in place, religious test people, and establish a test that they had to pass. And that test was "green" it didn't matter, the best and brightest, are not in charge of the departments of government, anymore. Friend, family, donors are. Are they really the best and brightest that you want in charge of food, safety and defense? A religious ambassador? We now have a "relion", by the state? Damn. There went my freedom from religion.

    2. Ur... whut?

Actually, JB, we've had a spate of career bureaucrats, who have been the ones writing policy for the last 26 years, retiring, being fired, being demoted, being sidelined, and just plain leaving. These are the same bureaucrats that, well...

Gave BillyJeff information that OBL was talking to his granny and we were listening in.
Tried to treat the 1st WTC Attack as just a criminal act, rather than a military one.
      Ruby Ridge

Wanting to prosecute accomplices in 9-11 in civil criminal court, rather than military one
Hamstrung our military with restrictive Rules of Engagement that increased the body count and delayed any positive outcome
      Gave us LCS
      Gave us Zumwalt
      Gave us USS Ford
Gave us the Iran Nuke Deal
Pissed on Israel for pretty much 24 of the 26 years
      Destabilized the Middle East
      Destabilized the Korean Peninsula
      Peed all over Taiwan
Caused the Philippines to look elsewhere for friends
Destroyed the mightiest Navy in the world
      Embraced Socialism as a Religion
Embraced Climate Change as a major branch of the above religion
Degraded the school system to where even the once mighty James Buchanan, who was a pretty okay president, can't spell or format a sentence correctly.

I like business people who are patriotic as politicians and ambassadors. At least they actually have to deal with the pile of puss-filled petulant regulations that hamper and kill innovation and business in this country. And a shift towards people of a stronger Judeo-Christian background, rather than a Marx-Engels one, is a good thing, as the J-C stresses moral living, striving to better the world through actions rather than words, treating your enemy as best you can (Beat the Dog-Snot out of him/her/it, then give him/her/it a helping hand up,) and generally guiding the person to better oneself.

Oh, and the 'best and brightest' has not meant most senior people in Government since, well Woody Wilson's push to embrace Progressive Socialism (doing almost all the same things that Herr Hitler and his band of kooks are famous for, really, look it up) and FDR pushed us into a national socialist government system, which Truman and Eisenhower pulled us somewhat away from, and right back into the Socialist slush pile thanks to JFK and LBJ. One of the single strongest enemies of this country has been, for the last 90 years, our very own State Department. Best and Brightest my pimpled posterior. Yeesh, some people's kids...

As to the 'freedom from religion' thingy. We have that. We do not have a state religion. We do not attempt to restrict the religious practices of any individual unless said religious practices move into the criminal spectrum, ie: murder, child brides, murder, cannibalism, murder, and so forth.

Your ignorance is showing. Mayhaps I suggest you cover it up with something called... education.

    3. I must thank the 15th President for allowing me to get my rant on. Well, yes, thank you James Buchanan the President.

The other JB? Meh. If I wanted to talk to a fawning socialist suffering from seemingly terminal TDS, I'd just go down near the college.

Checking.... Nope, still not tired of winning yet. Though the screams of agony from the left are tiring, no, not really, I am tired of laughing at them.

  5. It is getting tiresome. Call Kim "Little Rocket Man" and he is starting war. Take a picture with Kim and an equal number of American and NoK flags and he is kissing arse and giving Kim higher word wide standing.

Trump's recent comments were not well stated, he speaks off the cuff too much which gets him in trouble but also why he got elected. The media was anxious for Trump to accuse Russia of meddling which would have morphed into collusion. It was a setup that he loses regardless of his answer, but he probably chose the worst answer. The 12 indictments which will never go to court was part of the set up. Putin called the bluff with his invite of Muller's people knowing those indictments were political PR and Muller has no interest in actually pursuing them.

Russia meddled to weaken the Presidency of Hillary who everyone and every country assumed would win. They have dirt on Hillary and would have loved to hold it over her. Trump was an unknown possible loose canon, Russia would definitely have preferred a weak (probable alcoholic) Clinton to push around.

For whatever Trump may be, he is a Patriot...If he thought Russia had dirt to leverage his positions, he would quietly find a reason to step down. Also, the Left claim that Trump was not prepared for the office and did not really want to win begs the question, "Why did he sell his soul and collude with Russia if he did not want to win the election?"

The Trump comment that gets no mention, "I would rather risk political expediency for the sake of peace, than risk peace for political expediency." (or something like that) shows he knew where the media would take this meeting no matter what was said.

  7. Their hatred for him knows no bounds, nor do their underhanded ways. Saw this comment yesterday: "I still haven't figured out why Hillary lost. Was it the Russian uranium deal? or was it wikileaks ? or was it Podesta ? or Comey ? or was it a sexual predator husband ? or was a staff's husband Wiener immoral pictures ? was it subpoena violation? or was it the corrupt foundation ? or was it the congressional lies ? or was it the Benghazi bungle ? or was it pay for play ? or was it travel gate scandal ? or was it whitewater scandal ? or the Cattle Gate scandal ? Or the Trooper Gate scandal ? Or was it the $15 million for Chelsea's apt bought with foundation money ? Or Comey's investigation ? Or her husbands interference with Loretta Lynch and the investigation ? Or was it stealing debate questions ? Was it forensically deleting 30,000 emails ? The secret server in her house? Was it the Seth Rich murder ? Was it calling half the USA deplorable ? Was it the underhanded treatment of Bernie Sanders ? Was it the Vince Foster murder ? The Jennifer Flowers assault ? The Jennifer Flowers settlement ? The Paula Jones law suit ? The $800,000 Paula Jones settlement ? The lie about taking on sniper fire ? The impeachment ? The 6 billion $ she "lost" when in charge of the state dept ? The 10 million she took for the pardon of Marc Rich ? Or was it because she is a hateful & lying? Stealing from Haiti? Unethical lawyer who got fired from her 1st job? Defending a Chester?

    2. Oh, you left out the hagiography of the Lightbringer. Whomever hesheit really is, because we still know less about him than we know about the weird neighbor living next door.

And how exactly does one become rich while serving the People? Oh, I feel served by that august person, all right, served with a side of socialism and a heaping pile of scorn. Let's see, the man who openly colluded with the Russians to throw the 2016 election, and I suspect the 2012 elections. The only man to get his own school chant. Bleh.

As to Shrillery? When even Sanders seemed to be a more viable choice than She Who Won't Just GO AWAY, that right there tells anyone listening, well, maybe not James Buchanan from above, how bad a choice she was. But we'd better start saying nice things or we'll all be Arkancided.

  9. I have come to the place where I don't think anything DJT says or does would be 'right' by some people. I have long worried that there is a faction in this country that cannot and will not accept the outcome of an election unless it is one of their chosen. My reading back through memoirs, autobiographies etc tells me that that particular faction has been using these same tactics for a very long time, and what enrages them further is that it seems to roll of DJTs back like water off a duck's back! So, they up the ante....and in the course of said 'upping' they become increasingly more and more deranged.

    1. Yup, the left cannot accept defeat. The Donald seems to revel in spinning them up. While it is fun to watch leftist heads explode, my concern is that one day the loons might go too far.

And if the FBI and DOJ are asleep at the wheel, or actively supporting the loons, we're all in deep kimchi!

  10. your thoughts are following the same path mine do. I just hope that when they go too far, they remember who and what they are going too far with. You only have to look at their loud and vocal opinions about the NRA to realize that SOMEONE on their side should be having an "Oh S**T" moment , quickly followed by a....'guys, you might not want to go there", moment.
