Interesting Times...

A Crowded Field
(Source)
Another Crowded Field
(Source)
At least one of the candidates in the top photo has already dropped out of the race. Another has vowed to violate her oath of office within the first 100 days of her Presidency (support and defend the Constitution, of which the 2nd Amendment is a part), which should disqualify her. Will it? Are you kidding...

A few of those in that first photo want to Make America Venezuela (we could all wear "MAV" hates, probably made in China).

I'm surprised Occasional-Cortex hasn't announced yet, probably thinks she'll get it by a "Peoples Revolution." Ya know, President by popular acclamation.

I have noticed that many of these individuals are being judged by "who has the best chance to beat Trump." I have never actually seen that as a requirement for being elected to the Presidency. I also find it odd that they're not running on their accomplishments, nor their public records.

Seems pretty sketchy to me.

Of course, most politicians are just that...

Pretty sketchy.

Now these fellows in Washington wouldn't be so serious and particular if they only had to vote on what they thought was good for the majority of the people in the U.S. That would be a cinch. But what makes it hard for them is every time a bill comes up they have things to decide that have nothing to do with the merit of the bill. The principal thing is of course: What will this do for me personally back home? - Will Rogers

One last thing...

You eventually get used to the smell of that second field.

  1. The second picture reminds me of a coffee cup I once had. A picture of a bull standing with a cup of coffee and the caption "Outstanding in the Field".

Wow, first post. I'm getting up too early these days...

  2. A good juxtaposition makes you think outside your normal lane of traffic.... In that picture, I think the real difference is a cow has the good sense to drop the BS. Behind the eyes of those folKKKs in the picture, BS is developed, and produced, with no thought of the damage it will do, only the "points" it will win for the host.

You are spot on with the "who can beat Trump" meme. It's not about the USA anymore.

Those are the powerful people in our country up there..... and I'm starting to wonder what in the .-g-o-v is worth saving.... And I'm not coming up with much...

    1. I need to track down a story I glanced at the other day. Seems that somewhere a ruling was made that Congress has to stop delegating their authority to the many agencies in DC which now has those agencies making up their own (unconstitutional) rules with just about zero oversight by anybody. I'll have to find it. The bureaucracy in DC is out of control in some (many? most?) cases.

  3. Nobody who has worked as a civilian for the government thinks that "The government should be in charge of that!", is the best solution.

And true, you get used to the smell, but I'm not fooled into thinking the smell is perfume.

I would continue with a detailed list of what I believe the government should be in charge of, but I'm thumb typing this in a waiting room while my wife deals with the city of Philly.

Nothing bad, but I hate waiting, and I hate dealing with the city.

I am fairly sure that all former, and current military put waiting in line close to the bottom of their list of things they'd rather not do.

Good post, even though my blood pressure might be a tad spun up.

    1. That "who can beat Trump" thing really stuck in my craw. 95% of the political class are nothing more than greedy parasites. And that's being generous.

John- Are you sure that is how you meant to write that thought?

    4. Paul. Ack! Double negative! Polarity change! I missed it.
It was supposed to say, ".... put waiting in line close to the top of their list of things they'd rather not do."
See what happens when one ignores the KISS principle.
      Thank you.

    1. Hadn't thought of that, but you're right. Gotta be 35, but what if she is demanded by the "people"? That whole acclamation thing.

She is portrayed as stupid, but she scares me.

    2. It's her handlers that scare me. Those that tell her what to say.

  6. The vast wealth that is accrued by our Congresspersons during their terms (not to mention the lasting benefits) should give us pause and impetus to investigate. Mark Twain (quoted above) had it right. We citizens have become mere serfs in the eyes of the elected (and in the eyes of most unelected clerks, administrators, etc.).
So many misdeeds and bad guys/gals are exposed on the television and elsewhere. I am still advocating for just one public hanging.

Term limits would help, also reducing the bloated Federal bureaucracy.

    2. A Congress critter gets a pension after five years of service, which for a Senator considering they get a six year term, is a nice perk. When Franken resigned in January 2018 he got roughly $3,000.00 more a year than if he had resigned in the month just previously, just under $27,000.00/year. Oh ya..... he was worth over eight million in 2015.

  7. Amazingly similar amounts of bull-you-know-what in both pictures. Are yu sure that's not the same shot just taken at different angles?

To have a chance, all the Democrats have to do is not be crazy, and they can't even do that.

It's amazing how every single one of them on the debate stage raised their hands and said they'd provide free healthcare to Illegals. Sure, Americans will pay for it, but illegals will get it for free.

Anyone thinks that (and other free stuff for votes pandering) will play well outside the deep blue enclaves during the run-up to the general election with whichever one of these clowns in the clown car gets the nod?

  8. They held their first debate with no American Flag visible. They all support criminal trespassers and invaders over the citizens of this nation. They support the removal of rights granted by God, all saying that they, as representatives of government, are the ones to determine what 'rights' we are allowed to have. They rail against the rich but do not include themselves in that group. They embrace socialism for the masses, while quietly embracing feudalism amongst themselves. They hate everything about this nation except themselves, and I actually believe some or most hate themselves, too. And they definitely hate and actively campaign against the average Joe and Jill of These United States. Those who have sworn an oath of service have openly violated those oaths.

Isn't violating the oath treason? Isn't there anything we the people can do to enforce the oath other than at the election box, which, of course, they control the results.

Needless to say, I have not been a fun person to be around in public with because I ask others around me these questions when issues regarding politics come up.

I still support the only president to actively reduce federal regulations, and who is actively attempting to get the border issue under control.

And I fear for his life, the lives of his wife and children, and of the people of his administration. For assassination and murder have always been tools of democrats, socialists and leftist anarchists. (What do you call a right-wing anarchist? A grouchy hermit.)

Other than that, the play sucked because we can't even have entertainment that isn't stained by leftist bung-holes either as the players or writers, and really, who can afford to go to a play these days except some leftist politboro or socialistic feudal leader?

Baahhhhhh! Get off... my patch of weeds and grass.

  10. Term limits, Aye!

    AOC scarey as hell, Aye!

Government pensions for employees of Uncle Sam for more than 20+ years only, Aye!!

Need to develop some innovative method of recompense to attract intelligent folks who put this country first instead of their own wallet...maybe supply housing, and a food stipend, make them wear uniforms instead of being able to buy fancy French duds...Aye!!

And do not get ME started on the entire healthcare mess!!!!! Repeal the damn law, and turn the insurance companies loose again to compete in a free marketplace!!! Health insurance was much less expensive then, generally at least, but point out that folks like to be able to help their children out til they are out on their own, and design some forms of insurance for those who have pre-existing conditions...but quit expanding Medicaid, and look long and hard at Medicare...which is NOT FREE, does NOT cover ALL hospital/doctor costs, AND does NOT cover glasses, hearing aids, dentures or medications for a population that is having decreased vision, increased hearing difficulty, increased depression as they can not see or hear what is going on around them, and are losing their teeth, so eating healthy fruits, veggies, and meat based sources of protein is difficult, and can't afford their meds so that they can stay out of the hospital...never mind all the people who LOST health insurance, who had had it previously!!!! And a bigger bunch more of folks who have healthcare, at least on paper, but can't afford to use as the deductibles are so obscenely high, so basically, they DO NOT have healthcare either. Ya never hear about those folks in all the yelling about how many folks Obummercare has helped. Thanks a bunch to the former president, whom I truly believe was a much worse WH occupant than even Jimmy was. Ask ANY vet how they like having to go to the VA for their healthcare...that is the .gov running health care. There are some very interesting (in a good way) health care options that have started to pop up as a way around .gov's ideas, at a much more affordable dollar cost to the consumer. If the .gov would make Health Care Savings Accounts tax deductible like they did IRA's, it would promote everyday Joe and Jane to save starting at an early age, and would probably help the economy/Wall St in some trickle down effect. But get .gov and the politicians the HELL out of Healthcare...and DON"T EVEN get me going on GIVING away healthcare to any ILLEGIAL ALIAN in this country!!! I do not care if they hale from south of our border, north of our border or came in from any other continent!! NO. JUST NO!! Only if you have cash in hand to pay the intake person at the ER with when you walk through the door. Furthermore, if ANYONE in this country really, truly, honestly thinks that illegals are not ALREADY getting free healthcare, they are just plain stupid! And, it is a well known fact that ya can't fix stupid!!!! I have seen it happen in person, so don't tell me it doesn't occur.

I am going to go find some more blood pressure meds and get off the rant box...

    1. Good luck affording your blood pressure meds if you're in the donut hole.

Gack. I truly hate the '(un)Affordable Care Act' and all that it's done to people on chronic meds.

And, yes, most most excellent rant.

    2. The people who designed it and pushed it weren't interested in health care.

      Delete
    3. No. They designed it as one further step into national socialism. Literally they are Nazis. Really. With their own brownshirts, their abuses and hatred of Jews and Christians, the punishment of certain racial groups, government control of business and all aspects of life.

Yay. We have, as a nation, become what we fought against during WWII. And we're moving past national socialism into international socialism, as a nation. More yay.

In a just and righteous world, there'd be a lot of congresscritters and other government workers hanging from trees and overpasses.

    4. I won't argue that. Seems to be spot on.
