DeleteFirst wonder of the miracle, love of God and man, joy to the world. Second with wonder who the heck actually recorded or had singer sing it, love of violently skipping the song or covering my ears and humming, joy of changing to a good version or that the song is over.

Which will be, at the Maison de Harcourt, roast turkey breasts (2, better ratio of meat vs non-meat and all white meat) with candied yams, cornbread dressing, cranberry, with cherry pie and mince-meat pie for dessert. Yum.
Food, oh my word food. We feasted at the Olde Vermonter's place. I might be hungry again someday. Stuffed I am.

DeleteJoyeux Noel et Bonne Année Sarge. I do appreciate the softer, well sung Christmas songs, rather than the pop tripe that gets overplayed on the radio. There's some good songs in that latter mix, but when radio stations start them before Thanksgiving, they can get old fast.

ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I have eaten waaaaaaay too much!! Polish Christmas Eve dinner (6 kinds of pierogi, "green stuff" which turns out to be chopped cabbage cooked with salt pork then had pureed split peas mixed in...tasted YUMMY...and fish, and bobka, and rice pudding) and then went to Christmas Dinner with my parents turkey with all the trimmings, and then dessert at my son's house (fudge!!) and then back to the house where the landlady had made a full ham dinner with all the trimmings. And more cookies.
I might be hungry again by Friday...maybe...
And is it only me? Mr Van Honthorst must have been having a bad day when he painted Baby Jesus' nose?? It just looks...odd...the rest of the picture is wonderful...but that nose is just...off some how.
Yeah, that nose. Might be a Dutch thing?
