Travel Day

(Source)

Back to the north country, back to the homeland.

Don't want to leave, can't really stay.

Can't wait to get home, yet...

Parting is such sweet sorrow.

I'll be back by the Chesapeake before you know it.

(Next month to be precise.)

Read the folks on the sidebar, talk quietly among yourselves.

Juvat's here on the morrow, I'll be back on Tuesday.

I wonder if the Seven Men of Saxony will ever make it home.

We shall see.

Apropos of nothing at all, or maybe everything...

We're just ordinary people, you and me
Time will turn us into statues, eventually

Think about it.

    1. I arrived back at the palace shortly after 1700 local, tired but none the worse for wear.

    2. I was surprised it was only 320 miles or so? That’s not even a drive to Los Angeles here.

      Bakersfield

But somebody mentioned the idiot drivers

      it’s incredible out here

Darting in and out with 30 40 mile an hour differential. All to get in the back of the car 100 yards ahead

    3. It's 400 to 420 miles depending on which route you take (one goes through the Bronx, one does not - guess which one has the crappier traffic). The darting in and out, yup, saw that on the way down and the way back. Both times saw the results of such stupid driving.

People in the east often don't realize just how big California is.

  2. I'm not sure I want to be turned into a statue nowadays.

    Agreed, have a safe trip.

    1. That's the point I was trying to make. Before one speaks of tearing down statues, you have to realize you might be one someday.

    1. Blue has the ability to step very lively. I rather like that about her.

    1. Yes, I spotted a number of their ilk today.

Surprised they didn't all kill themselves in their wanton hurry to get somewhere.

    1. Especially in the cities and towns. Roads that are perpetually being repaired and never finished.

  6. I always liked Foo Fighters.

Interesting album cover. Almost looks like an 811, but the glass envelope isn't shaped quite right.

    Maybe a Svetlana 572B.....

Just be polite... that's all I ask. (For Buck)
Can't be nice, go somewhere else...
