And That's a Wrap ...

(Source)
Though winter has scarcely begun, and December has nine more days to run, I've essentially decided to call it quits for the year.

I'm tired of thinking, I'm tired of dealing with the occasional -

(Those guys are everywhere, thank G_d we don't see a lot of that in these spaces, but they do stop by from time to time. Annoying, make a fellow want to chuck the whole idea of having a blog, dontcha know?)

Not saying that I'm not going to post at all, I might, but I really don't feel like it. Besides which, I have yet to finish editing my World War II novel, I checked, while I did leave it in "self-edit" mode, it's apparently lazier than Your Humble Scribe.

Note that by "edit," it's not just spelling and grammatical errors (Moi?) but cleaning up various threads that abruptly stopped in mid story (thinking of the Brits here, oh yeah, the Poles as well).

Traveling tomorrow but expect it to be a short trip, no openings at the endodontist on Tuesday either, but I'm not in an emergency status on that front. The medication is controlling things (as long as I remember to take it). But I will need to be home for my scheduled visit to the endodontist next week.

Sigh ...

Anyhoo, if you don't see me here, have a nice holiday season, for the Christians (like me) I say Merry Christmas!

Regardless of your personal beliefs, may you get to spend time with loved ones, may you be stress free, and may you be ready to face the new year ...

Whatever that may bring.

À bientôt!

  4. Rest up and listen to some symphonic heavy metal. If you like the current lead singer of Nightwish, she started singing for After Forever when she was 14 and albums and concert video is available on YT.

  7. Sarge - It has been a long year, has it not? And at least for me, I have to confess that late night plane travel and arrivals tend to wreak havoc with me on a way they did not in years past. And to be frank, the "ACKCHUALLY" crowd can wear one down (it does me, at least).

To be frank, we are children of fortune that we receive what you and Juvat and Tuna (and yes, you too Beans) offer us on a daily basis for free. I know that I have beat this drum more than once, but 99.9% of bloggers do this work for the sheer love of writing and entertainment. We are probably not as thankful to all of you as we should always be (so, again, thanks).

Hoping that you and yours have a lovely Christmas Day as well the 12 days of Christmas and New Year's (and enjoy that three weeks off!).

We love of you (well, at least I do).

    Your Obedient Servant, Toirdhealbheach Beucail

(P.S. If it makes you feel better, my works have been no more productive at self editing than yours. I think it is a conspiracy...)

  8. Happy Christmas Ladies and Gentlemen. I've really been encouraged by you folks here this year. And if anyone ever needed it I did / do.

If you think about it, say a prayer for the Looney family. Mr. Looney was a mentor to me, member of Patton's army at the end of WW2, and in the army of occupation after. He made the roll call in the sky yesterday. I'm gonna miss him. If there was ever a good man, he was one.

  9. Merry Christmas to all.

It's been a challenging year for many , and I'm hoping that we all see a better future.

I'd be happy if the self editing comment block would remove my most egregious errors.

  12. Well, actually... have a Merry Christmas. And I hope your tooth will allow you to be merry.

And now that the annual Advent medical crisis is over (for now) I'll be able to post.

Have a good one with your family. That's the important thing.

    1. Yes, the whole appointment in ten days thing blew my mind. Might have to see a doc while I'm in Maryland.

Thanks for the Christmas wishes and may the New Year find you and yours happy and healthy.

History and tragedy, the two are often hand in hand, aren't they?
