Rambling Man

Source
So, I'm on the road, first to Maryland, then to Virginia. Headed down to the Eastern Shore to do research for Uprising.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.

Vacation?

Well, might be a little of that involved.

The Muse wanted a vacation, wasn't me ...

Be back soon, my precious, soon.

  1. Have fun, keep that Muse happy! Clancy is still on the shelf.

    1. Speaking of Clancy, do you read the new ones by Mark Greaney, Grant Blackwood, et al? I've read a few, but they seem to be formulaic. Are the different authors all canon?

    2. I read a couple of them, not bad, but not Clancy either. I haven't been back.

  5. See? Look at all the "research" you will have time to do upon retirement...

    Have a great trip!

  6. Enjoy! Have some crab cakes, or crab sandwiches, or BBQ crab, and a raft of oysters (I really have no idea about Maryland or Tidewater cuisine), hoist a few "To those we've loved and lost, and those we've left behind." That too, is gathering information.

  7. Sometime, treat yourself, the Missus and the Muse (if they tolerate each other's company) to a visit to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum for a good flavor of the Eastern Shore, and indeed the whole Chesapeake Bay culture. James Michener's "Chesapeake" is also an engrossing blend of regional history and fictional characters, some of whom were rather rebellious.

Lots of great VRBO rentals in the St. Michaels/Easton area which are pretty affordable off peak season. You could get a place there for the whole tribe to gather, and laze around the pool/rivers. We did a family reunion in that area a couple of years ago and had great time.
(Spring recommended as less likely to get hurricanes then!).

Just be polite... that's all I ask. (For Buck)
Can't be nice, go somewhere else...
