Hello Kitty...?

The Astronaut, Hello Kitty
American kids aren't interested in science? Really?

Apparently Lauren Rojas IS. Young Miss Rojas is a seventh grader from Antioch, California. She decided to build a rocket and launch it (along with a Hello Kitty doll) into space.

The goal was to test air pressure and temperature at high altitude for her school's science fair. It's not known if "Hello Kitty" has any other space flights under her belt.

When I saw this video, just had to share it. It's pretty cool.

I haven't given up on the youth of America.

Some of the parents though...

  1. Or show videos like this.
    They give kids ideas.
Then all we have to do is keep "well meaning adults" from pointing out how whatever they're doing is incorrect thinking.

    1. Make it interesting and exciting, kids will eat it up. Outstanding video, thanks for the link.

  2. The Hello Kitty vid was most interesting but I HAD to watch it with the sound muted.

@Skip: I'll add my thanks, too. Wow!

    1. Yeah, what is it with video makers and the music they choose. Personally I'd go with something in a more classical vein. But that's just me.

  3. BOTH videos were excellent entertainment. I wish I had that guy as my physics teacher in high school. I probably would have learned a lot more than I did.

    1. I hear you. The science teachers I had back in the day were all rather eccentric. They also seemed to think that if science wasn't boring, then it wasn't science.

Just be polite... that's all I ask. (For Buck)
Can't be nice, go somewhere else...
