Guilty As Charged ...

So, instead of blogging, The Missus Herself and I did the above.

I have no remorse whatsoever.

After action to follow ...

Initial Assessment:

Outstanding. Absolutely outstanding entertainment.

 Go. See it.

    1. Sarge, just like with the computer games, I for one appreciate sacrifices for research you make for the betterment of the InterWeb. We are all better because of your hardships...

    1. My thought halfway into the film was that it was a classic American movie. The good guys win, no politically correct bullshit, and massively entertaining. I have to admit to a couple of tear-inducing scenes in the film. Memories of folks I knew who flew fast jets, and didn't come home.

    2. I'm so much in agreement, loved that it didn't go anywhere near the seemingly mandatory wokeness that infects today's entertainment. I will see it again.

    3. I am not prone to exager exhagg exagrer over-stating or tautology, but I thought it a masterful and mature piece of outstanding entertainment and superb camerawork capturing the intensity of the goings-on in the fighter aircraft cockpit. Can’t wait to see it again.

  3. I have heard nothing but good reviews. And this honestly surprises me, as it comes from people with knowledge and high movie standards.

    1. Hugely entertaining, had me on the edge of my seat a few times. The guy behind me must have wondered why I was shifting my head and grunting in the flying scenes ...

  4. I've heard Tom Cruise may be the last hollywood star. I've also heard good reviews about the movie. Thanks for the recommendation.

    1. He is. At the beginning of the showing, before the movie proper starts, Tom is on camera, thanking the audience for coming to see the film. No matter what else is said about him, that was, to me, classy.

  5. And he wears a jacket that has the Republic of China (Taiwan) flag on it, which is causing the ChiComs no amounts of angst and anguish.

I am one of the few people that thought the original was "Meh, okay" so I'll wait for it to come cheaply.

    1. By coincidence, I watched the original again yesterday. It's available in its entirety on youtube. There are also several analyses of it by people who actually flew air to air off boats, some quite funny.

    2. I'll have to watch the original again, it's been awhile.
