Ah, A Day Off ...

OAFS Photo
'Tis a nice day here in Little Rhody, couple of errands to run but I don't have to go to the paying gig today.

So, I've got that going for me.

Y'all stay safe, enjoy life while you can.

I'll be back.

Just enjoying this "don't need to be creative" thing for a day or so.

Dinnae fret, it's temporary.

Ciao.

  2. Looking good.

Remember "...don't have to go to the paying gig today" is ALWAYS an option. Not to give you more time to scribble, but time to do whatever The Missus wants to do.

    1. I've called in well a few times, myself. Also, there's always the ol' "I got a problem with my eyes. I just can't see comin' in to work today" That ones easier, bein' self-employed n all. Even if the boss is kind of an asshole...

    2. I didn't call in, I have every Friday off, by design!

  3. Sarge,
Still amazed at your back yard. I don't suppose, you'd consider a trip to Texas and do a similar if a bit larger project in our backyard?
    Just sayin'.
As to the "Paying gig" or lack thereof, if your Missus is anything like my Missus (and I think she is), you will never have to worry about boredom. The trouble is finding time to do "your" things rather than "our" things.

  4. Sarge, looks like a great day to relax! And without rest and relaxation, we inevitably burn ourselves out.

Oh dear! Sounds like you have a honeydo list!

    1. We don't have "honey do" lists at Chez Sarge. Someone wants something done, they do it themselves, if they need help, well the other will pitch in as needed. We're rugged individualists around here.

  9. With a back yard that looks like that either your wife enjoys yard work or you don't really have a day off. :-)

    1. She "enjoys" yard work. (In quotes because there are days when it's actual work, like a job.)

  10. it's so nice of you to give the muse a day off;
please make sure you feed her (properly) and provide the requisite nourishing/(relaxing) fluids as well

  11. An interesting fellow Blogger has a story that seems to be the reasonable result of your Operation Concord Bridge.

Retirement for myself was so busy with unpaid honey do's and volenteer work that I went back to part time work for the break.

And it helps pay for the vacations.

Enjoy the time off. Your yard is something I fear to show my lady.

    1. Did you know that Executive Orders only apply to the Executive Branch of the government and NOT to the other branches, nor to the population at large? I didn't until FJB started issuing them willy-nilly. When a President thinks he has the powers of a King, it's time to change Presidents.

    2. Or change the system that places an obvious meat puppet in such a situation. Biden is a symptom of a greater disease; I dare say communism or a near version.

    5. November can't come fast enough for me. Although I expect the time between election day and Jan 20th to be filled with frenetic lefty actions from the outgoing administration.
