Ramblings to the Rescue

Image generated via AI.

Sarge sent out the subtle Bat-Signal with his "Nothing to Say" and rerun post, so I have come to the rescue. This reminds me of the line from The Dark Knight when Commissioner Gordon laments the vigilante. I will use it with extreme literary license: “This may be the blog post The Chant deserves, but not the one it needs right now.”
In a recent post, Sarge lamented how politics is very much "in your face," which is so true. Election season, which seems to be at a full boil as we near each November, is only turned down to a high simmer the rest of the year. I think that's because there's so much money in politics, and the fact that the current administration is trying to cut off that money. I'm not necessarily talking about just campaign money, but the fraud that seemingly funds all the protests, the left-wing media, the siphoning off of aid to Ukraine, and the financing of "Learning Centers," hospice clinics, Medicare fraud, and so on.
Sarge's exact line was: “The world has gone insane, everyone wants to howl in my face about politics.”
It's on full volume right now and stays at a relatively high pitch all the time because the left has severe Trump Derangement Syndrome.   They are fighting for their life—or at least their lifeblood: our tax dollars.  Therefore, nearly every media story is slanted to slander, which keeps politics on the front burner all the time.  It keeps people upset and voting for a side that has nothing going for it except that hate for their opponent.
I see the real-world consequences of this constant media fear-mongering right in my own home.   I've previously mentioned how my apolitical daughter went off to college and came back as a textbook "woke" liberal, completely hating my political views.  But reality has a funny way of breaking through that viewpoint, especially here in California.  We live in a state burdened with massive taxes and exploding local problems.  Lately, I think she’s finally starting to turn.  Our current ballot is packed with weak candidates and propositions that will raise our taxes even higher, and she is starting to feel the actual weight of the policies she was taught to cheer for. Is her heart and mind changing ever so slowly?  I think so, but nothing accelerates that shift like watching her hard-earned dollars get siphoned away to fund the very insanity she is trying to survive.
By the end of the movie The Dark Knight, Harvey Dent has gone insane, become the villain Two-Face, and died. If the public found out that their "White Knight" District Attorney had become a murderous criminal, Gotham's citizens would lose all hope, and the criminals Harvey locked up would be released back onto the streets.  Knowing that Gotham is a deeply corrupt, gritty city that regularly falls into chaos, Batman tells Gordon to place the blame for Dent's crimes on him.  With that, Batman becomes a hunted criminal in the eyes of the public. He isn't interested in praise or fame, and his reputation suffers because of it.  Yet, he disappears back into the shadows to continue keeping Gotham safe.
A violent, law-bending vigilante like Batman is exactly the kind of gritty hero a city like that "deserves."  However, Batman was not the hero it needed right then.  What Gotham needed at that specific moment was hope and faith in the official legal system.  It needed a symbol of pure, uncorrupted justice who worked within the law—and that symbol was the DA Harvey Dent.
Bear with me now, but I'm going to loosely equate Batman to Trump.
Trump doesn't play nice. He deals with the stark, ugly realities of the world, and those on the other side of the aisle.  For years, we were led to believe that geopolitical threats like Iran were entirely contained by conventional diplomacy.  During the Obama and Biden administrations, we were told the situation was under control, pointing to international monitoring that legally capped Iran's uranium enrichment at a harmless 3.67% purity.  But this soft diplomacy was either ignorant, or subtly and intentionally hiding how fast things were actually moving beneath the literal surface of Iran.  Inaction on our part had led to 5% purity, with some stockpiles reaching 20%.   That led to the 2015 Iran Nuclear "Deal" which lifted sanctions capping them at the previous 3.67% enrichment.
Once Iran's fiscal constraints were off though, reality caught up with us quickly.  We now know that Iran managed to quietly blow past those old diplomatic baselines, pushing its uranium enrichment all the way up to 60% purity—a hair’s breadth away from weapons-grade material—and amassing hundreds of kilos of fissile stock capable of nuclear armament.  Meanwhile, they shattered their own self-imposed 2,000-kilometer missile range moratorium by launching intermediate-range ballistic missiles thousands of kilometers out toward the base at Diego Garcia.
The media and the political establishment - from Bush to Biden, tried to downplay just how close our adversaries were to a nuclear capability, using the illusion of past agreements to justify our inaction.  Trump recognizes the danger of the real world though and acts accordingly, regardless of the outcry and recent media leaps that claim he wants Iran to bomb San Diego as a small price to pay.
Trump is not the slick, good-looking, smooth-talking politician we think we want.  He is not perfect by any means, but his policies are strengthening our country, protecting the border, making us safer, putting more people to work, making us less reliant on foreign countries, and Making America Great Again.  Trump takes the slings and arrows of the media, fueling the cacophony from the left, and he simply doesn't care.  He doesn't step back from his policies. He doesn't chase the polls.  And he's equally good at choosing the right Lieutenants who are just as skilled, if not more, at pushing back at the media's attempts to hijack the narrative and slander his agenda.
Like Batman taking the fall for the peace of Gotham, Trump absorbs the endless hatred, the investigations, and the media vitriol because he can take it.  He isn't the polished, comforting, and passive symbol the media wants for us in Washington.  But because he stands as a shield between us and a chaotic world, pushing his policies without caring about his own elite reputation, he might just be the exact hero we need.
And years from now, history might credit him as such.
For the rest of the month at least, the howling from the left will probably remain in Sarge's face.  But as long as the shield holds, the rest of us can continue to enjoy the fruits of Trump's labor.  Will it hold?  I'm voting with Juvat's rubric* to keep it in place.  If things shift a little more left, his agenda may stall, but the public, like my daughter, is slowly waking up.  As it does, maybe we'll start voting in our best interests, and the the politicians we deserve won't be so different from the ones we need.

* And I'll add one more- no tax increases ever.

  1. May your daughter come to her senses sooner than later Tuna, very nice summary today. It's taken awhile to see the effects of the dismantling of USAID, both here at home and overseas.

    2. Batman was a rich fellow, like Trump. Batman fought for law and order abiet not within the system. Trump, well bending the rules often might apply.

But Batman didn't make money from his crime fighting efforts.

SNIP Donald Trump’s net worth has increased by roughly $2.7–3.4 billion since winning the 2024 election, rising from about $3.9–4.3 billion in 2024 to around $7–7.3 billion by late 2025–2026, driven largely by cryptocurrency ventures, Trump Media, and related business deals.

Pretty impressive, magnitudes higher than any president in our history.

‘This is insider trading by definition’: Trump sells $100,000 monthly subscription service to Wall Street to further monetize the presidency

Seems KNOWING what Trump is going to say 24 hours before it comes out is VALUABLE to say Oil Futures Traders?

I could go on but I'm staying AF Sarg polite here.

    3. If any of that is illegal, I can't abide by it at all. Unethical? Possibly. However, if these are legal business deals, I am pro capitalism. That being said, I don't think we'll ever get pure of heart and completely altruistic politicians in the higher offices. - Tuna

    4. Trump is not directly pocketing money, like Obama and Biden and the Clintons.

All his money is in investment firms that he does not directly or indirectly control. Which is the legal way. Unlike Pelosi or AOC or all the other politicians who use inside information to do insider trading.

Even better, Trump is actually using his personal wealth to better the nation, from paying for renovations and funding the Ballroom/Catering Facility/Bathroom Facility/Military complex/White House Hospital.

Seriously, how did Barry and the Mooch enter office almost broke and leave with $50 million? How did Hillary continue to make massive financial gains as First Lady of Arkansas, First Lady of the USA, Senator from New York and Secretary of State?

Where are the investigations on all those people?

What about all the senior people, including Biden and Obama, who had direct ties to the CCP?

What about all the military elite who profited off of ties to the CCP and committed treason?

Like Vindeman, who should have been hanged, but was running for office in Florida because some civil judge countermanded a military court martial (which has been overruled and he's back to Leavenworth, the traitorous toad.)

Where's all the investigations into actual treason by senior officials during Trump's first 4 years, like that fat toad Milley?

    5. Oh, Horse Puckey Beans.

Trump is RUNNING Truth Social. He's selling insider information 24 hours before announcing it to the world. AKA Oil Futures Insider Information for a nifty 100K per month.

It's known as a strawman argument to point out EVERYBODY Does it.

That's NOT the Point. We are not discussing Barry Obummer as Batman but Trump.

  3. It is tough to overcome the day in, day out propaganda that flows from the corporate owned media... if you watch it. I wish you luck!
Trump is fighting the cabal that has run things since Kennedy was replaced.
Add to that we are in a quiet battle of good vs evil. You can see it with the open Satan worship, the tens of thousands of missing children, the subcurrent of pedophilies quietly tangled up in those who run things.
The popularity of blaming everything on the Jews these days, the open antisemitism... in my view antisemitism is only thing different about the Nazis in their attempt to take over the world and all the others that have tried.
White Christian Europe is under assault and looks to be loosing that war, I see warnings that "they" have started openly talking about it here in America.
Then there is the mid-term elections in 24 days and the promises the left have already made about what they are going to do if they win. It's not good for the Republic today.
We are in a serious time in history.. the only thing "I" can do is not watch the cabal's propaganda and vote on the 3rd of November.
I'd like to urge everyone to get out and vote in 24 days.

  4. All true, and that cabal is well entrenched and very good at covering their tracks. The euro cabal seems content in watching the continent burn.

  5. Tuna, I do think cognitive dissonance always occurs when one has to live under the policies in practice than one has supported in theory. We are always for taxing the other person of course, never ourselves - until we find that to others, we are that "other person". We trumpet a policy until we find that we are forced to live under that policy and that the meaning we poured into it was not what its originators actually meant.

The increase of the national debt concerns me a great deal though. I really wish debt reduction was front and center of everyone's agenda.

    1. The cognitive dissonance is extra strong here in California. The shit politicians are all career politicians who started as staffers, never working a real job and therefore have no understanding of economic policies. And the voters can't tie the shit policies and shit results to the shit politicians.

  6. Crusty Old TV Tech here. May Sarge recharge his dilithium crystals and return with renewed vigor! Appreciate the exposition, sir Tuna. We here in the Great State of Texas are dealing with the cabal bringing outsiders and Austin Weird types into our mostly (usually) reasonable political discussion. Yes, Sarge nailed it, there is a "howling in our face" in their constant, nagging, insistent derangement from them. My instinct tells me it will not play well in East Texas, or West Texas, or any area outside the Travis County Logic Exclusion Zone. Try that Austin stuff out in Carthage (Texas) and see how it flies. We shall see.

  7. The Batman allusions are lost on me, a non-movie goer. However the rest of Tuna's observations coincide nicely with mine.

As has been pointed out, that exponentially expanding national debt is a huge danger no one is willing to address, let alone fix with the drastic Argentine Milleiu style changes. Other than that, we can only hope that enough people who know something about reality can be convinced to show up and vote, and that election shenanigans do not result in a false outcome. The corrosive effect of the media cannot be overlooked, or forgiven. "Those who do not read the paper are uninformed, and those who do are misinformed" is sadly true.

We are at that "If you can keep it" stage predicted by ole Ben Franklin. But the evil lure of "free stuff" may overcome any rational discourse on the advantages of freedom and personal responsibility.

It is tough to disagree with most on the left, so I prefer to remain silent ("and merely be thought a fool") than to debate those who will not be convinced by facts or logic.

Sarge runs a great show here, and we should divert politics over in the sewer where it thrives, rather than here in genteel company. But, it does feel good to vent occasionally.

I fear for our country's future.

  8. President Trump's "sin," and both sides of the aisle see it this way, is that he isn't a career politician. He's a businessman. Problems are there to be solved, not talked about for generations.

For half a century politicians have been saying that Iran is a danger to the civilized world. OK,he's working on it.

Politicians have been complaining for decades about NATO and the US carrying a disproportionate share of the costs. President Trump makes some outrageous claims and statements, PRESTO! more members ar living up to their financial obligations and also starting to take their own security seriously.

Every president from Clinton on had said that illegal aliens are a serious problem. OK, Trump tightened the border.

    The list goes on.

I keep seeing in social media thr "TACO" slur...Trump Always Chickens Out... when he backs down from some of his outrageous demands. But what people fail to notice is that he didn't walk away empty handed. It's like real estate, or the old open air bazaars. If you're selling, you always ask more than you're willing to take. If you're buying.you offer far less than you're willing to pay. That gives you room to negotiate and "give in" to the other guy.

Basically, he's taking away campaign issues. No career politician can allow that.

    1. You can replace "race" with almost any issue and it holds true:

"I am afraid that there is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public."

  9. Living in California Lite (CO) we have one protection, the TABOR (Taxpayers Bill of Rights) where tax increaes, from sewer districts to state government must be approved by the voters. The (P)regressive's answer is fees. As to PDJT, this octogenarian will say he is the only President in my lifetime who has kept, and keeps trying, his campaign promises. I can appreciate his accomplishments without liking the man.

    1. I think we have that here, a whole bunch of ballot initiatives are for voter approval of increased taxes. But the legislature is always looking for more money for themselves and special interests, and they pass on authority to administrators who raise the cost of living, like the energy commission mandating specific tires.

In a world of Radus, be more Vlad.

Seriously, the enemy have taken over this country and the only way to recover is to, well, be like Vlad. Impale federal regulations. Burn down stupidity. Kick the DEI paynim in the crotches so hard their ancestors refuse to have sex and the dei paynim disappear in a time paradox. And quit letting in the muslims (the only refugees Trump's admin allows now are white South Africans, mostly farmers.)

And I am looking forward to watching Nadal Hassam catch some heavy metal poisoning. Though I still think it should have been a full military hanging with him coming out in full uniform and have all his awards and emblems cut off of it, leaving only a slashed suit, and then hanged until dead. I prefer the slow pull (people pulling the rope up) as it will be a slow and painful suffering. Though a short drop (kicking a stool out) or a long drop would work, too. Audience should be everyone, if they wish, who survived, the family members of the dead, his old unit and anyone else in the military who had to deal with the aftermath or the dirtbag. Front row should be everyone, mandatory, who knew he was a turd and kept him in the military knowing he was a threat. Like splatterzone close.
