And We're Off...

An E/A-18G Growler attached to the Wizards of Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 133 launches from

Yes, lads and lassies, it's time for Your Humble Scribe to travel once more to the West Coast and the sunny clime of Sandy Eggo. Gonna be a hard slog once again, long days dontcha know, but I plan to find time to sit down over a Guinness with Tuna, BigSoxFan, and my old comrade Greg from Okinawa. Haven't seen him since the '70s!

Rumor has it that we'll have a cuppla half days off, which is better than naught I might add, but still, no rest for the weary. (Nor the wicked, so I'm told.)

No doubt juvat, Beans, and Tuna will step up their game and entertain you with more than their usual erudite observations of the world. (Probably a recipe or two from Beans as well, he seems to be our gustatory guy. I'm not saying he's got taste, not saying he doesn't.) Can't wait to see what sort of labels he comes up with for his posts.

Well, actually I can wait, scares me he does.

Anyhoo, today is a travel day, not sure if I will write anything for Saturday, though I should have time at the hotel Friday evening as I don't actually start working until Saturday.

Yes, you read that right, Saturday. Rumor has it that we'll be laboring on the sabbath (well, the Christian sabbath) as well. But it's alright, it's God's work we're doing, preparing to meet the godless heathens at some future date.

So...

I'll see ya when I see ya.

  8. Ah, flying. I remember the days when you dressed up to fly, when the food was actually good, and the stews were... And I was 10. So, well, yeah.

    Enjoy your flight and your hotel, hopefully the stupidity of your fellow travelers and the petty bureaucrats you will meet will not harsh your mellow.

  9. Hey AFSarge;

    IF you flew with my employer, I believe that you made that observation, we will do what we can do on our end to make sure that you make it on time to your destination. It is a matter of pride for us. Keep us informed if possible so we know that you are alive and kicking ;)

    1. Had two really good flights, attentive flight attendants, number of landings = number of takeoffs.

      A great trip!
