After a weekend of cool temperatures (and lots of rain) the first few days of my stay here in Maryland have been nothing short of spectacular. We even had very warm temps (80s) on Tuesday and Wednesday. Rather pleasant though after the very cool nights up north.
The boys, Roberto and Finnegan are both rather excited to have Grandpa on board. They had to show me all of the Halloween decorations but were disappointed that Grandma and I wouldn't be coming down for the event itself.
Nope, I've got a procedure scheduled on my left eye right after Halloween. I'm getting a glaucoma drainage implant as the eye drops I've been taking aren't enough to get the pressure in my left eye down within reasonable limits. (For the record, right eye is fine.) That's going to take place shortly after The Missus Herself returns from her sojourn in the Land of the Morning Calm. Early November, Election Day as it were. I didn't know that when I agreed to the date.
Not to worry, I'll be voting by mail this year. I don't like to, but there is no alternative this year. Gotta do the civic duty thing, dontcha know?
Until then I'll be chilling with the grands then back up north to get Mama from the aeroporto. It'll be nice having her home.
Miss her, I do.
Now I need to explain to a six year old and a three year old what I'm getting done to my eye. Such things fascinate them.
Me too, if I wasn't the subject.
Oh well, better than being blind.
Be (ahem) seeing you.

Enjoy the Family Time Sarge! OBTW, eye see what you did there.......:)

DeleteSarge,
ReplyDeleteAgree with Nylon. Enjoy the Family, especially the Grands while they're young. Prayers going Heaven bound for a successful surgery.

They're fun when they grow up as well, DAMHIK.
DeleteI've been doing the eye drops for almost a year, the pressures were still ok with the last check, I go in again next week. This whole scares me...
ReplyDeleteThis whole "thing"... I need to proof read :-)
DeleteRob - It can be scary, just roll with the punches. What will be, will be.
DeletePrayers up as well for the surgery Sarge.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if there is a Tube of You video of similar surgeries in animation? I can imagine that would have been cool to very young me.
They're probably is, no, I don't want to see it.
DeleteSo you're the punching bag/jungle gym for them. Is your wife the sugar dealer aka Candy supplier?
ReplyDelete- Tuna
DeleteKorean grandmas don't hand out candy, they believe in cash rewards. Better for the teeth and long term financial stability. Or so I've been told.
DeleteAhh, ok. No grandkids, but Mindi is known as "Auntie Sugar" to our younger relatives. - Tuna
DeleteKoreans aren't really into candy and the like. Fruit is their dessert of choice.
DeleteEnjoy it all.
ReplyDeleteThe eyeball magic tricks sound scary, but looks like one of those things they do all the time, so if your doc has done a few it should be "ho-hum, why did I wait so long" after it is all over and working great. Prayers up anyway.
JB
Thanks, JB.
