Crappy weekend ...
Lack of sleep Sunday night ...
Travel anticipation ...
I'm out.
Hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving, which means I hope you have stuff to be thankful for, and get to spend the day with people you care about and that care about you. I do and I will.
But damn, I'm tired.
You might see me in the comments, you might not hear from me until next Tuesday.
This is me taking a break, Lord knows, I need it.
Ciao.
Reading this and what came to mind was Jackson Browne's "Running On Empty". Enjoy the family Sarge, try some short naps too.....:)
ReplyDelete"Running on Empty" fits, very well.
DeleteBest of luck, Sarge. If at all encouraging, my flight ended up being delayed by only about 30 minutes and the last leg was 1/3 full. Safe travels.
ReplyDeleteThanks, TB!
DeleteSafe travels & good food!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rob!
DeleteSafe voyages, great times, good sleepings, warm hugs, happy encounters, ... I'm channeling a Jimmy Buffett song, Gypsies in the Palace ... have wonder-filled break.
ReplyDeleteThanks, htom!
DeleteSarge,
ReplyDeleteI've seen it before, but that's a spectacular photograph. Talk about being in the right place at the right time with the right camera at the ready. (I'm betting he didn't take that pic with a cell phone as the now pilotless jet would have impacted uncomfortably close to him.)
Course, from the pilot's point of view it's probably the wrong place at the wrong time, but with an excellent seat.
As I am sometimes wont to say "Better to be lucky than good!
Accident details can be found here (https://www.f-16.net/f-16-news-article842.html) if interested.

I remember that accident well. Dang, 17 years already?
DeleteCrusty Old TV Tech here. Dr Crusty prescibes late morning wake-ups, favorite dog bounding upon bed to deliver said late wake-up calls in person, lots of good home cooking, family togetherness, and judicious use of Kentucky corn squeezins, for your symptoms. Walks in the autumn mist, and time spent by the fire reading Sir Walter Scott might also be advisable! You have certainly earned it, Sarge.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds perfect! Thanks, COTT!
DeleteBurning the candle at both ends and in the middle gets old real fast. Enjoy your time away from the keybard (hmmm....interesting typo - describes you well, "keybard"- almost sounds like a....callsign), "keyboard" I mean "keyboard".
ReplyDeleteThankful every day that I have a God who loves me unconditionally and sees that I'm looking at the grass from the right side and have the energy and interest to whine and moan about somethin g. Shows that I'm alive, aware of what's going on, and interested and care enough to whine and complain. Having a loving wife, a roof over my head, food in the pantry, and clean water and sanitation facilities is all gravy.
"Keybard," I like it.
DeleteI have much to be thankful for, including the folks who stop by here.
Thanks, Joe!
Enjoy a well deserved break.
ReplyDeleteEveryone has something to be thankful for, even if it is in the "coulda been worse" category. The more fortunate have even more to be thankful for.
JB
Looking forward to seeing the grands. (Which includes two grand-dogs and a grand-rabbit.)
DeleteThanks, JB!
Via con Dios, mi amigo! Hope your mandatory grope session goes well and your airport visits and flight are actually pleasant. I gots a post I'm working on for tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, a lot of TSA at PVD are ex-military.
DeleteThanks, Beans!
