I agree with the selection of airplanes, probably because I've flown both of the AF birds. I did note a little puzzlement though. Thought the 4 x 4 by Gun was cool, however the canards on the AIM-9s was a little more modern than would be appropriate. The double delta canard was introduced on the L and M models (reference the Heater on the Hornet). The E model which would have been appropriate on an F-4C had a simple triangle for the front canard. The P's that were loaded on the D's and E's I flew had a triangle leading edge and a rectangle on the back. Just sayin'
I guess when you don't research your subject fully you get errors in those details. I doubt that the artist either flew or maintained the Phantom. Probably why they invented the term "artistic license."
You have a good eye for detail. Then again, you were an eagle-eyed fighter pilot.
To start off the new year--Schweinebraten made with a dry rub and Shiner Bock. Sauerkraut of course--were you expecting black-eyed peas? You're a bit north for that. Dirty garlic mashed potatoes with enough butter to cause a heart attack just looking at it. Pork mushroom gravy and broccoli and mushrooms in a Swiss cheese sauce. We like mushrooms. A cheddar and spinach quiche and a Milky Way lasagna for dessert....
Guess I know what's for lunch the next week--there's no way two finicky teenagers will polish that off....
Good selection of those birds associated with this sites contributors.........especially like the first.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites as well!
