The Fuhrers have spoken!

No, this is not me Ghost Writing Tuesday's chapter for his WWII novel.  Alles wird klargestellt shortly.

So...I don't know about the rest of you, but I do a lot of web surfing using Sarge's Link list as a starting point.  There are a few I don't visit, having commented with a differing opinion about some of their posts.  Folks, a flaming retort questioning the status of my parents at my birth (Married 9 months and 2 days if you must know), is not a good way to increase your hit count, no matter how long Sarge has you on his link list.

There are a few on there that I visit every once in a while because I know there will never be a new post there.  Well...until the Lord installs an Internet connection.  But I do visit occasionally to refresh my memory on how much I liked their posts.

The majority of the folks on his list are on my daily read list, and I appreciate their efforts.

One of those active people on the list is Mr Garibaldi over at My Daily Kona. Last Tuesday, December 1st,  he published a particularly interesting post about the East German Internal Security Agency, not so affectionately known as "The Stassi".  At the end of the post, he stated he felt we were headed down that path also, making a very good argument in support thereof.

You should go read or re-read it now.  I'll wait.

I remember thinking as I stored the article, in what little long term mental storage I have remaining, "Thank Goodness, that's not likely to happen in my little town."

I know, I know. The Lord has his ways of showing you the errors of yours.  I kinda thought he'd wait more than one day, however.

But....

The local newspaper is published weekly on Wednesday.  I suppose it's done that way because back in the day, news was passed by smoke signals and being frugal Germans, "Don't buy new if the old is still working."

Or something like that.

It's not a bad newspaper, very Small Town-ish.  Lots of local sports info, Large Obituary page, a slight Democrat slant, but the previous owner votes that way and being the Democratic County Chair, she still has some influence.

One of my favorite parts to read are the Letters to the Editor.

I've learned to look first at the writer's name as much like the situation described in the opening paragraph, some folks have burned the "Read their Bovine fecal matter?" bridge irretrievably for me.  Example to follow at the end of today's post.

So, I glance through the letters and find one by a lady I know who's married to a local Police Officer whom I also know and respect.  Level headed folks and generally calm, cool and collected.  So I settled in and read the letter.

Here it is:

I redacted her name to protect her privacy after the "Don't mess with Texas" line.

I thought there was no "flippin" way, this could be true, so I go to the City Web Site .  (Interestingly, when I went to check the link just now, the site is "down".)

After a bit of poking around, I found this page.

Fortunately I had taken a screenshot

I, being ever the optimist, thought maybe that's intended to be used to mention something or someplace that had been overlooked or untried.

Ahhh....No!

Clicking the link takes you to this Screen shot

Zooming in on the "heart of the matter".

Nope.

It's a method for people to rat on friends, neighbors or just anybody.  Or maybe to cause some pain to a competing business.

The only possible positive aspect of this tool is that one has to sign in to use it.  Therefore, the 6th Amendment's Confrontation Clause should still be feasible. Or the City could be sued I think, I'm not a lawyer so what do I know?

Gonna be some "Interesting" things in our immediate future, I think, my friends.  Be alert.

Which brings me to the second letter to the editor.  Again, the author's name is partially redacted.

Ms Collier is the Democratic Party County chairperson I mentioned earlier.  I taught her daughter back in the day, She was always present at parent conferences and such, never had any issues with her or her daughter, but that's been a while.

The author of the article, however, was hired several years ago, along with his wife, by the school district.  Both were fired by the district very shortly thereafter.  It was believed to be for falsifying their resume's. Given the tale he tells in that letter, and similar letters to the editor over the period, he has quite the reputation for, well, less than "The Truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth."  Most of the events happened, it's who they're attributed to  that altered.

I loved the line "There are at least 80 million who will always be here ... "

Well...At least until the Resurrection.

Lord, I trust you have a plan.  It would be nice if we knew a little more of what it is.

  1. I have not commented, nor posted, on any of the nonsense which has been masquerading as an "election." Notice that the Brown Shirts, er, I mean Antifa and BLM, have stopped their anarchy since they got the result they hoped for, by what I am convinced were fraudulent means.

As to the blogs you mention in your first paragraph, if you would send me by email, the offending parties, I'll remove them. It wouldn't be the first time I removed a blog from the list if the author is either an idiot or delusional. Often both. Some I removed because they were just flat out inaccurate. Let me know, please, there is no place for that sort of crap. Especially here.

As to those who would let their God-given rights be taken away, a pox on their houses.

    1. Looks like you've already removed the one I was talking about. Been so long since I've looked for it, I hadn't noticed it was gone.

      As to the last...Agreed!

    2. Thanks for that removal. Last time I went there I was also lambasted as a complete psycho-moron for not slathering at the feet of the blogger, and then the blogger got mean. TDS was/is/will be strong in that one. Makes me wonder if that one believes in the words of the service oath it took when it served.

I do admit I do love a good learned discourse or two, and I admit that I don't know everything (shhhh... don't tell my wife... wait... I think she may already know.... :) So sometimes I'll step on my unit and say something really stupid on one blog or another (like, well, here) and someone will smack said unit and provide FACTS (not feeeeeelings...) and I'll go, "um, okay, oops, thanks" and then go to wrangling over the next topic.

Learned Discourse vs monkey-thrown-poop. There is a difference...

      Oh, well, takes all kinds...

  2. How can people who think like John even exist in Texas??? I know it takes all kinds but...He'd be much happier in Berkeley. Tell you what, I want out of Calif. so bad I can taste it. I propose a straight up trade. He moves here, I move there, fair trade.

    1. Well, he fancies himself a big wheel in this little town. Purports himself to be a Marine Vietnam Vet, complete with requisite Ball Cap. You know...I've known a lot of Marines. Even years after they've left the Corps, there's just something about them that screams "I'm a Marine." This joker has none of that. I think he enjoys his role as the Propaganda Minister of the local Democratic Party and is unlikely to leave, even to live in the communist utopia that is Berkely. Besides given the beater he drives, I don't think he can afford it.

But, anybody willing to call himself a "viking" is more than welcome here. As they used to say on TV..."Come on Down!!"

    2. "How can people who think like John even exist in Texas???"

Indeed. The rot runs scary deep. Look how close the race was between Ted Cruz and Beto.

We moved here (DFW area) from Kali in 2015. Like someone who has escaped from a communist country, I'm likely a bit more sensitive to this odor in the wind than some of the natives. I hear milquetoast reposes to the commie left and think to myself "This is Texas. What ever happened to "He jes' needed killin"". Seriously. We win or lose it all, right here, right now. Not advocating violence, but not going to back down, either.

    3. The "needed killin'" defense, I believe, is still around. I've seen several verdicts come about that could only be explained by it.
I also think Gov Abbott will tighten up election procedures in the next session. Lord, I hope so.

      From your keyboard to God's.

However, if that is all that happens (here and elsewhere) it will be too little, too late. As I said, We win or lose it all, right here, right now. If the communists win now, then the corruption stands, the investigations evaporate, and 2016 was the last legitimate election in the U.S. Ever.

I heard a very good point this morning on talk radio--the only way Biden can win is for Trump to concede. It ain't over. I don't think President Trump has played his aces yet.

    1. Yeah, as I mentioned above, it's fairly obvious (USMC ball cap notwithstanding), he's a died in the wool commie and from what I've seen of most of the democrats here, that's not unusual.
Back in the days of nirvana (AKA pre-commie flu) when we could have parades (There were 3 a year) and such, when the democratic float would come by I would very definitively stand up and turn away from them. I noticed each parade that more and more people around me would do the same. So, maybe just maybe, there's hope.
And frankly, I think that's why there was so much obvious fraud needed and used in this election.

    2. Yeah, I'm well past the point of "going along to get along". I carry a mask in my pocket. If someone asks me to put it on because they're especially vulnerable, I will. But that's as far as I going along. I want the other side to start going along to get along with me and those like me.

      Delete
    5. I hate them. Messes up my ability to read lips, which, considering I'm partially deaf, especially in the higher womam-voice range (children just sound like insects to me, completely non-understandable,) makes other people wearing masks a veritable pain in my tucus.

And, well, being an educated cross between a horse and a donkey, I knew from the very beginning that masks were all maskrova or veritable Potemkin-ish. I wear them because my county and city (illegally, according to my governor) can and will fine the businesses if the customers are maskless. Of course only certain businesses owned by the wrong sort of people ever get fined...

Then there's the way it affects my asthma. Same reason that, though helms with only eye and little pierced holes for breathing are neat, I have always fought in open-faced helms (with just bar-grills to protect the face.)

      Delete
    6. I don't like masks either, but the owner of the business at which I work has a very immuno-compromised wife. He requires full masking of both staff and customers to reduce the risk of him getting sick and transmitting the virus to his wife. I respect his right to conduct his business as he sees fit - some customers have decided to shop elsewhere, I also respect their right to do that. What I don't respect are mask shaming covidiots who think they should be able to tell everyone else how to conduct themselves - kind of like smoking in restaurants. If a business owner wants to allow it, I think they should be able to do so. If you don't like it, then don't go there. I'm not a smoker and really don't like smoke in the air or anywhere close to me, but keep gov't out of these types of decisions 'made for our own good'!

    7. Tom, I'm good with that. That's exactly why I have one handy, but I'm not going to kowtow to some prissy harridan demanding I do it because she said so.

  6. You know, those covid tipster lines are a great opportunity for pranksters all over the country to turn in possible situations. There must be a lot of likely "concerns" about city owned or run facilities, buildings, events, employees, parks, streets, sidewalks, etc which really need to be reported. And, just to keep them busy, a follow up demanding to know what action has been taken to rectify previously reported sinners should be made. Might also ask if their diktats apply only to residents, or also to visitors, or refugees fleeing oppression in Democrat run states.

As for the purported ex-Marine who shames my name, President Reagan correctly said "Well, the trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so.”

    2. Since the Dems enjoy fraudulent charges and votes so much, why wait until the Mayor and City Council are actually seen without masks? Same with Mr. Marine up there, or his wife. Or, well, any good little Stasi.

Two can play at that game.

Of course, it's better if 2,000 or more get on the bandwagon. Publish potential targets' names and places and do unto them what they have done unto us.

Although I don't know the writers of Letter to the Editor Juvat mentions personally, I do know we have a number of their ilk living in our community. From my viewpoint of almost 80 years, I believe many of the busy body and liberal opinions voiced by John and their kind, were imported to this scenic area by escapees from liberal bastions where freedom is not tolerated and one must do as instructed by incompetent liberal leadership. One would hope that those who embrace anything short of Freedom would flock and roost with their own species rather than roam and spoil what used to be pristine areas of Freedom. However, unfortunately that's not the USA we live in today, so they flock to Texas and hope to screw it up as badly as where they came from.

Both are bad, but these days the political motivation is far greater than the cost of living. A friend of mine moved to Tennessee and he is very careful to say he was "stationed" in California vice anything that can make them think he was once a Californian. I don't think you have anything to worry about with any recent transplants.

Juvat, this is probably the most alarming thing that has come out of all of this: the easy acceptance by a great many people that reporting on your neighbor for breaking not a law, but a social expectation. My assessment of all of this is I am talking to a great many less people about myself, my beliefs, my opinions, and my activities as frankly, "You just do not know".

The sadly tragic part of all of this will be that those who feel justified in their reporting today will be surprised when the same social justification is used against them.

I see what is going on now where a certain segment is willing to "Narc" on their fellow Americans "For their own good"...the tyranny of a busybody is the worst kind of tyranny because they believe that they are doing it "For the Best".

  14. Tuna (post 8 December), I wish we didn't have anything to worry about with recent transplants. However, those who move to Texas from places where liberalism is a way of life may not realize it, but they bring some soil from their origin which carries seeds of "they are what they were when" that sprout, flower and put forth sour fruit that spreads like blue stem grass which neither cow nor goat will consume when it's mature. At some point they will say, I miss so and so from home, what if.....?
