| Panzer Elite In game screenshot |
As in, I'm done. All that remains is the mailing of the forms and the writing of the checks (that latter bit will be done online, no actual checks will be written). So, I guess I can get back to my fictional tale of the American Revolution and ...
Ya know what? Nope, I'm going to take at least another day, maybe the whole weekend before I get back to that.
My brain is fatigued after doing what I feel is my duty as an American citizen. Wasn't pretty, wasn't fun but hey, 'tis done for another year.
Now I'm going to go immerse myself in the virtual world of computer gaming.
I took that screenshot above just moments ago, I need to get back there. We'll need a restart as while I was setting up a screenshot, a German scout car was setting up a shot on my tank.
Damn the bad luck.
Sorry juvat, I was too shocked to get a picture of my tank blowing up for you. Bit traumatic that was.
Unlike real life, I can start over. Kind of like in that Tom Cruise movie Edge of Tomorrow. Which, by the way, I really enjoyed. (Being a big Emily Blunt fan helps as well.)
YMMV
One thing I will say for Panzer Elite, while the panzers generally show up in the same place and time, sometimes they don't. Keeps you on your toes it does. Mind your tactics, they're important. Very important.
See you soon (ish).

Mailed mine 23 February, can't get any indication of whether they have even received same. But I have had problems with mailed items not reaching their destination several times in the past. Not sure if its USPS incompetence, or "OUR FINEST" who ask USPS to "handle" some items for them, and USPS complies. No longer have the original 1099-R to be filed with Federal, of course, but since Florida has no state income tax, I can send them that part.
ReplyDeleteYes, the Post Office has become less and less reliable compared to what it used to be.
Deleteit wins the award!
DeleteComment of the Year
and it ain't even 1/3 over yet.
Seriously?
DeleteThe Post Office hasn't been good at even getting cards I send to elderly family and friends there in less than 10 days (NH to Mass).
ReplyDeleteI do all my bills and taxes online as at least I get some receipt it arrived and email it's processed.
GAME QUESTION; what German Scout car carried a weapon to kill a tank? I was under the idea they had machine guns or light autocannon?
A Puma.
DeleteLooked them up. a late war low velocity 75mm support unit with HEAT shells or the high velocity 75 mm tank killer.
DeleteInteresting and thanks.
Michael #1 - Yes, the USPS can no longer be relied on compared to what they once were.
DeleteBear in mind, the scenario depicted in the opening photo involved Stuart tanks, M5s. There were cannon-armed German halftracks which could kill them.
Scott - By Puma you mean the SdKfz 234/2, the SdKfz 234/4 also mounted a tank-killing gun but without a turret, as in the Puma. The Germans were very good at mounting cannon on damned near anything which could move.
DeleteMichael #2 - See my comment responding to Scott.
DeleteAF Sarg with that rear bustle thing I didn't notice they were M5 Stewarts. So almost a Recon Tank meeting a Recon Car scenario :-)
DeleteSeems the 37mm of the Stewart could take out a Puma as well.
Whoever got the first hit :-)
Recon versus recon, exactly!
DeleteThe M5 can (and does) deal with the armored cars quite readily.
Don't forget to come up for water and food Sarge, computer games can really help the hours pass by.....ask me how I know....:)
ReplyDeleteI do, frequently. My recent knee injury requires me getting up and moving around. If I sit too long the pain can be, shall we say, exciting?
Delete"One thing I will say for Panzer Elite, while the panzers generally show up in the same place and time, sometimes they don't."
ReplyDeleteOr as we say at my job, "The plan is the plan until the plan changes".
Enjoy the weekend Sarge!
Or as Mike Tyson might put it, "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face."
