Anyhoo.
So I wanted to provide you folks with a few observations, whines, and comments about this blogging thing of ours. (Which led to me searching for the photo, which I modified, a bit. For those who are wondering, from left to right we have Tuna, moi, Juvat, and LUSH. Her photo, well a piece of it anyway, is from her sitting in the cockpit out at NAS Fallon. On the trip where she earned her callsign.)
Alrighty then.
On Sunday, the 9th of July, you got a rerun. My very first. Why, you might ask? Well, I wasn't really in the mood to come up with new material and I didn't want to just leave you hanging. I like to have a little something-something for you everyday. The fear is, if I skip a day, then you might skip a day and who knows, the blog could go Kaput! (As the Germans might say.) So, a rerun.
I thought it was a very good story and I wanted to put that out there one more time, an encore presentation if you will. I have given some thought to instituting a "Sunday Rerun" feature, whereby I would post an old favorite (of mine, of course) every Sunday. I'll admit it, there are many Saturdays where I just don't feel like posting. Usually I suck it up, rub some dirt on it, and drive on. I didn't last Saturday.
Will I do the "Sunday Rerun" thing? Not as a regular thing. After all, what would draw in the Russian spambots if I didn't have all original material
Speaking of spambots, from Russia, with or without love, they've made an appearance again. Seems to run on an every other month cycle.
As you can see, Independence Day must be a pretty big deal in Mother Russia, everyone goes out and visits The Chant, watches the fireworks, looks at plane pr0n, I don't know what it is that attracts them, maybe it's my cologne. (I don't actually do cologne or aftershave, makes my face feel greasy. I know, I know, TMI.)

Never mind. I will say this in my own defense -
What a data of un-ambiguity and preserveness of valuable knowledge on the topic of unexpected emotions.
I do consider all the ideas you've introduced to your post.
They're very convincing and will definitely work.
Nonetheless, the posts are very quick for newbies. May
you please prolong them a little from next time? Thank you for
the post.
I have to thank you for the efforts you've put in writing
this website. I really hope to check out the same high-grade content
by you in the future as well. In fact, your creative writing abilities
has motivated me to get my own site now ;)
I know this if off topic but I'm looking into starting my own blog and was
curious what all is needed to get setup? I'm
assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?
I'm not very internet smart so I'm not 100% sure.
Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Appreciate it
Automotive leases are recommended when visitingYes, those are actual spam comments which always show up as written by Anonymous. Now the only Anonymous guys I recognize, on a regular basis, are Paul L. Quandt, L.J. and the Alemaster. Of course, while they use an "Any Mouse" handle when commenting, they actually put a name or a moniker of some sort with their comments. There are a couple of other actual commenters who don't leave a moniker but you can tell that they are real people.
St Barts.
After all, they're not advising me about automotive leases when visiting St. Barts. I mean, we try very hard here to provide "data of un-ambiguity and preserveness of valuable knowledge." Thanks for noticing...
That St. Barts advice? Try getting that on another blog. Only here folks, only here.
And as to that penultimate spam comment, well...
Yes, this blog costs me thousands. Then again, labor is pretty cheap, Juvat and Tuna work for next to nothing and...
Oh wait, they do work for nothing!
One last word of advice, for Juvat, avoid toll booths.
Yeah, I got nothing...
And doesn't Tuna look a little bit like Ike in that opening photo? Must be the uniform...
Oh, one last thing, vacation's over LUSH, where's that first post? When I get that, you don't have to be Fredo anymore...
You're a funny guy, viejo sargento de la fuerza aérea. Very funny!
ReplyDeleteBTW, I use Gimp for my photoshopping. It's free also and much better than paint.
Gimp? I shall check it out. I mean the price is spot on!
Delete(BTW. I think you look quite dashing in that photo.)
I agree.
DeleteGimp is the right price!
I have it on the laptop, photoshop elements on the desktop (which is still packed)
Two votes for. What could possibly go wrong?
DeleteYeah, seeing myself in a Tux is exactly the instant I knew it was photoshopped. :-)
DeleteHahaha!
DeleteI will echo Juvat and Uncle Skip. Gimp works great and 'it don't cost nothin'.
DeleteAnother precinct heard from!
DeleteI never really considered my flight helmet for formal occasion attire, but I really like the look.
DeleteShould be required!
DeleteAppreciate the FYI and as far as I'm concerned... keep doing what you're doing. The daily postings are very enjoyable from all of youse guys, hear? The time put in is well worth it... mucho gracias!
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteAt least I look thinner. Looking forward to re-reading some of the posts that were popular among the proletariat.
ReplyDeleteThere are some gems from the old days. (All of five years ago!)
DeleteThe last thing ol' Wal-duh-meer wants to find out is how many divisions The Sarge can whistle up. Mean, cranky old-school divisions, with exactly zero participation trophies.
ReplyDeleteWell, there is that, to be sure. Buncha cranky old farts armed to the teeth, with a battle cry of "Get off my lawn!"
DeleteTuna is a Marine?
ReplyDeleteNo, but Michael Corleone was...
DeleteSarge, I started out using Microsoft paint (because it was free), but it's clunky. You can get a version of Photoshop Elements 15 for around fifty bucks, and earlier versions, feature rich, that are almost as good, cheaper if you want to shop around.
ReplyDeleteI do most of my 'shops on PE 12, like my latest:
https://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/2017/07/raiders-of-lost-credibility.html
I have looked at Photoshop in the past, perhaps I'll look again.
DeleteLoved the Raiders of the Lost Credibility, sprayed my monitor I did.
The Elements versions are pretty cheap and not that hard to learn. As a typical guy, I never read the instructions, but I did get a few pointers from friends. Use a little Windex on that monitor! : )
Delete🤣
DeleteAs much as my name is appearing in this blog, I'm going to start demanding the same pay as the other bloggers. Oh wait; I'm already getting paid as much. Oh well, carry on with the plan of the day.
ReplyDeletePaul L. Quandt
P.S. Thanks for the post.
