And dontcha know it was eleven years ago the 22nd of this month that this 'ere blog opened for business?
And that once again I missed the date, thinking that it was the 28th.
Why no, no it wasn't.
You'd think it would be something I'd remember ...
But no, no it isn't.
Thanks to all of you readers, commenters, lurkers, and hangars-on. Not to mention Tuna, juvat, Beans, and John Blackshoe.
I won't mention them because they'd want a raise if I did.
What's that?
I did?
Och weel, mebbe next time I'll double their pay. (Yes Beans, I know, zero times anything is still zero, don't tell the others.)
Seriously though, thanks.
Hey Old AFSarge
ReplyDeleteGlad your little corner of the internet is around, We like visiting it so keep working it.
Roger. WILCO!
DeleteYou know, as Mrs. Andrew keeps pointing out, there's this computercameraphone thingy that you can put vital information in, like critical dates for appointments and such. Old people, yeesh...
ReplyDeleteGlad you're still here.
Excellent idea. I shall do that this very moment. As Churchill said, "Action this day!"
DeleteI think I read today the Marines raised the Flag on Iwo Jima today.
ReplyDelete23 Feb 1945, a family friend wrote a book about it. But yes, I missed that important anniversary too!
DeleteSarge, if it makes you feel any betters, I also manage to forget a blogiverssary every year until the day is almost upon me. It has almost become part of the whole experience. As always, thanks to you and all the Chanters for your efforts.
ReplyDelete(Personally Beans, I would give you a raise, but seeing as how I am not in charge...)
He's certainly been going the extra mile lately!
DeleteWhoohooo! As long as it doesn't push me into a new tax bracket... hey, wait.... dang... :(

DeleteCongratulations Sarge! Your blog is one of my daily must-visits. (A note on computerthingie reminders, one can also put in another reminder a few days early as an alert to mission-critical events with potentially life-threatening consequences like certain birthdays and wedding anniversaries).
ReplyDeleteMost of my life seems to be on my phone's calendar, just not the blogoversary. Now that's there as well!
DeleteMy life (and short-term memory) is augmented by post-it notes on my kitchen door where I have to see them. Real important next day things are taped to the doorknob impossible to overlook when opening (and a post-it on the bathroom mirror). Long-term memory is my mundane diary (like when did I last get a haircut?). Not senile, just cautious.
DeleteMy computer monitor at work is covered with Post-It notes, reminders of things to NOT do.
DeleteSince I've been here so long I'm now getting 4 times my original starting pay!
ReplyDeleteYou sound like a spam comment ...

Tuna, I am interested - Are you working from home, and this is so incredibly easy almost anyone can do it/
Delete🤣🤣🤣
DeleteNo pay required. 'Tis an honor and privilege to lend occasional support to Sarge's great home for lost Lexicans and similar scoundrels who show up without the press gang's urging. Sarge and his regulars have taught me a lot, along with some of his pals on the right hand sidebar. This place is variously a good hangout, hiding spot, or place for reflection or entertainment.
ReplyDeleteJohn Blackshoe
Thanks JB!
DeleteNewb.
ReplyDeleteHeh.
DeleteYes, but it is a good insanity. Do keep it up and please relay a soft stroke of the fur to Ms. Anya.
ReplyDeleteI shall. And thanks Mark, Anya appreciates it.
