Remember "...don't have to go to the paying gig today" is ALWAYS an option. Not to give you more time to scribble, but time to do whatever The Missus wants to do. JB
I've called in well a few times, myself. Also, there's always the ol' "I got a problem with my eyes. I just can't see comin' in to work today" That ones easier, bein' self-employed n all. Even if the boss is kind of an asshole...
Sarge, Still amazed at your back yard. I don't suppose, you'd consider a trip to Texas and do a similar if a bit larger project in our backyard? Just sayin'. As to the "Paying gig" or lack thereof, if your Missus is anything like my Missus (and I think she is), you will never have to worry about boredom. The trouble is finding time to do "your" things rather than "our" things. juvat
Yard looks great! I did all my domestics yesterday and am takin a hotrod model T up in the hills to enjoy some 2 lane decompression therapy, today. : ) Do yourself a favor n do fun, today. ; )
We don't have "honey do" lists at Chez Sarge. Someone wants something done, they do it themselves, if they need help, well the other will pitch in as needed. We're rugged individualists around here.
it's so nice of you to give the muse a day off; please make sure you feed her (properly) and provide the requisite nourishing/(relaxing) fluids as well
Did you know that Executive Orders only apply to the Executive Branch of the government and NOT to the other branches, nor to the population at large? I didn't until FJB started issuing them willy-nilly. When a President thinks he has the powers of a King, it's time to change Presidents.
Or change the system that places an obvious meat puppet in such a situation. Biden is a symptom of a greater disease; I dare say communism or a near version.
November can't come fast enough for me. Although I expect the time between election day and Jan 20th to be filled with frenetic lefty actions from the outgoing administration.
Works for me, so pls enjoy. Going to go back to beginning for a quick re-read. So. Many. Players. Gotta get names straight in my head.
ReplyDeleteI must do the same!
DeleteLooking good.

My wife did all that, I just lift heavy things.
DeleteSarge, looks like a great day to relax! And without rest and relaxation, we inevitably burn ourselves out.
ReplyDeleteSO far, so good!

ReplyDeleteI do fun every day. Just got more hours to that in today.
DeleteA nice day of rest before the weekend is always nice.
ReplyDeleteLife is sweet when every week is a short one.
DeleteLovely yard! Lots of love went into it.
ReplyDelete"couple of errands to run"
Oh dear! Sounds like you have a honeydo list!

DeleteGood looking back yard there Sarge, compliments to the better half........ :) well framed photo also.
ReplyDelete'Tis my wife's pride and joy. (She works on it constantly.)
DeleteWith a back yard that looks like that either your wife enjoys yard work or you don't really have a day off. :-)
ReplyDeleteShe "enjoys" yard work. (In quotes because there are days when it's actual work, like a job.)

She needed it, badly.
DeleteAn interesting fellow Blogger has a story that seems to be the reasonable result of your Operation Concord Bridge.

Retirement for myself was so busy with unpaid honey do's and volenteer work that I went back to part time work for the break.
And it helps pay for the vacations.
Enjoy the time off. Your yard is something I fear to show my lady.

DeleteWe need to adhere to the Constitution and remove those from office who refuse to do so.
DeleteThanks Michael for the URL to the story, it's pretty good!
DeleteGood stuff.

DeleteBeautiful backyard, Sarge. Your day off is approved.....
