As the World Goes Insane ...

Just when I think I know where I'm going with a story, I start reading and learn new things. It's going to take a day or two to fit my newly gained knowledge into the tale of the Franco-Prussian War. So be cool, we'll get there, I hope.

In the meantime, let's hope the world slows down for a bit and people try harder not to do, say, or think very stupid things.

I know that's asking a lot, but ya never know.

Talk quietly among yourselves, don't break the windows, scratch the floors, or empty the liquor cabinet, such as it is. And this time, replace the freakin' keg under the bar, you know who I'm talking about.

In other words, have fun, but don't break my stuff.

I need a vacation!

    1. Except for the chores, the chores don't follow you on vacation. We'll be on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay soon enough. Now that's a vacation!

    2. Are you going to fish for Bluefish?

  2. First, you must Refill the liquor cabinet, it's current status could be emptied by a Baptist preacher handing out communion.

    1. I did not realize it had fallen to such a sorry estate. No doubt the fighter pilots have been "helping themselves."

  3. PS: let me know when you make the Class Six run, I'll help stock (and the un-stock) said cabinet.

    1. When you help stock you always should get priority in "unstocking." 😏

  4. Sarge, enjoy the time off, you’ve earned it. Looking forward to the next chapter though.

I get the feeling that there is someone behind the curtain pushing the "stupid". I'd like to find out who...

    1. I would think politicians in general and members of a particular party in particular. Just sayin'.

    2. Rob - There is definitely someone behind the curtain, someone with lots of money and a sheer hatred for our way of life.

    3. juvat - I won't cut either party any slack. Why haven't the rethuglicans pushed through the SAVE Act? All the world wonders ...

    4. I don’t disagree, but it seems the D party is out performing the other party in cranial fecal amount right now and is appearing ( to me) to be ramping that up. I do, however, think this has been going on since the dawn of time, in varying levels of fecal headedness on either/both sides. So, the best we can do is keep a close watch on your “representative” gummint.

  6. And can we please put the peanut shells in the waste receptacles and not just scattered on the floor? Someone has to clean this all up...

Enjoy, Sarge. Judging from the painting, there is a lot of new information!

    1. Oh? I thought we were going for that country & western sort of feel. We're not? Sigh, I'll get someone on that.

  7. The Class 6 went up $6 a half gallon on my common booze but came down $8 a fifth on special occasion booze.
BTW: Have you noticed the Class 6 on Navy bases are larger and have a better selection?

    2. Tsquared - I haven't been to a Class Six in months, but the last time I went, yes to both your questions.

  8. Roger on the party instructions. I'll behave, or find someone else to blame.

Today's painting is interesting, with lots of action around some sort of gate. Not sure who is trying to get in or out, but much blood has been spilt already. Someone has wisely brought some artillery to lend dignity to this vulgar brawl, but not sure if it is to open the gate or to deliver an unwelcome reception to folks clamoring to open it. I am sure we will find out in due course.
