A man I admired and respected.
ReplyDeleteIndeed.
DeleteNice one Sarge you do these right thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteAnother childhood hero departs. Once again, the Earth feels a little heavier for me and although this man was immortalised decades ago it is still bittersweet. I salute you once again, Rocket Man.
ReplyDeleteHear, hear!
DeleteIt's probably near impossible for today's youth to imagine how admired these men were. They were the bravest men on (and above) Earth, rock star-level celebrities.
ReplyDeleteI never thought of it that way, but you're absolutely right.
DeleteThey were "rock stars" before that term had really been invented.
I agree with Suldog, these guys were huge heroes to us. Thanks especially to live news coverage.
DeleteBack when they actually reported news!
