I know, I know. I was Air Force but my newest son-in-law went to the Trade School on the Severn. He and The Nuke live not too far from the hallowed halls of Mother B. I've also had a number of dear friends who graduated from there. Not the least of whom was Our Lex.
Yes, I have friends who went to West Point, but hey, they didn't marry my daughter.
With a son, two daughters, and two sons-in-law (both of whom Fly Navy) who wore or are wearing the uniform of the United States Navy, how could I not root for them?
Besides which, they all outrank me and, like a good sergeant, I support my officers...
The series since it's inception -

We shall see who sings last this year.
I say again...
That is all...
Go Navy, beat Army. Nuff said!

DeleteIf I go with my mother's father's side, Go Navy!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf I go with my father's and mother's branch, and go with it's parent branch, Go Army!!!!
But since the parent's branch was spun off before they were in the branch, and since that branch has like no skin in the game, at all...
I will say, most heartily, Go Navy.
Now, when comes the inevitable Air Force vs Space Force game, we'll see... Probably Air Force unless the Space Force has Space Marines, then, well, gotta go with friggin Space MARINES! On the Bounce, Soldier!!!
I can see it now, cyber warfare divisions of both forces furiously fighting an unseen battle, Air Force gets the dominate position early on but the Space Force surges ahead after the SF unlocks the cheat-mode on their battle-dress...
Hahaha! Well said, go Space Force! Er, I mean, Navy!
DeleteSpace Marines vs ParaJumpers. Hmmmm... Hmmmmmmmmm.... Love to see that. Powered armor vs the least known Special Forces guys.
DeleteNow that would be awesome!
DeleteA Space Marine bouncing down the field in his powered armor, looking to get a clear goal, when suddenly, from nowhere, a shadowy figure drops from a darkened helo, and snatches the Marine, both shooting up into the helo and disappearing...
DeleteConfusion reigns, until suddenly everyone notices the camo'd figure rising between the goal posts, ball in hand.
Needless to say, the jump feature on the Space Marine armor allows for easy interception of the extra point, and a goal is made off the intercepted ball.
The Space Marine field goal is, again, blocked by a hazy dark cloud of nothingness, resulting in another shadowy figure standing just this side of the goal line, and the PJ steps for the goal.
End score of the game is somewhere around 540-540 with time called because no one can really handle another potentially 10 hours of back and forth.
Space Marines claim victory, but the PJs are the ones smiling, having left a gnome statue in the SM trophy case, so who really won?
Hahaha!
DeleteAir Force Cyber pulls a feint, and the Space Marine's Special Talent suddenly starts shouting about bug, zillions of bugs...
DeleteWhy am I having flashbacks of the movie Aliens?
DeleteOh, Gawd. Starship Troopers. The book, not the dog-squeeze of a series of movies by that name.
DeleteI knew that, hence my puzzlement.
DeleteBeans, you have the makings of a decent sci-fi story there.
DeleteHmm. You are right.
DeleteAnd who could forget, Robert Anson Heinlein was a graduate of Annapolis.
As a longtime member of the Goat Locker I agree, Go Navy!!!
ReplyDeleteHear, hear!
DeleteOoh. Space Seals.
ReplyDeleteI will echo Flugelman. Go Navy!
Space SEALS rock!
DeleteA little hard for me.Dad was army for 30 years. I was navy. Don't actually care about the trade schools and why they recruit athlete idiots is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteSo you're sitting this one out? I get it. I blame the admirals.
DeleteLooks like Navy managed to pull it out in a squeaker. Unless the NCAA feed had the scores or lineup reversed, in which case Army won in a squeaker. Twenty-four points is a tiny margin. But no, ESPN agrees. Had no idea Navy had such a good record this year. 10-2 is way better than abraska's 5-7. So good job Navy. Now you seniors get your @$$e$ out there and unfiretruck my fleet!
ReplyDeleteArmy fought hard to the end, but Navy sang second.
DeleteHopefully both sets of graduating seniors, Army and Navy, will make a positive impact on our armed forces.
Some fine young men and women there.
Gig ‘em, Aggies. That’s the only dog I have in the fight.
ReplyDeleteHeh.
