  5. And Happy New Year to you old friend!

Thank you Lord for giving me
    the brand new year ahead.
Help me live the way I should
as each new day I tread.
    Give me special wisdom
that I may help a friend.
    Give me strength and courage
so a shoulder I might lend.
    The year ahead is empty
help me fill it with good things.
And each new day filled with joy
    and the happiness it brings.

  8. It was the dawn of the third age of mankind, four years after the Hillary/Trump war. The Trump presidency was a dream given form. Its goal: to prevent another war by recreating a place where citizens could work peacefully and lawfully. It's a city of call, home away from home for diplomats, hustlers, entrepreneurs, and wanderers. Citizens and aliens wrapped in sixty eight point three four square miles, seemingly alone in the night. It can be a dangerous place, but it's our last best hope for peace. This is the story of potentially the last of the American nation. The year is 2020. The name of the place is Washington, District of Columbia.

Yeah, I am somewhat trepidatious about this year. But there is hope, hope that we can wrest this great nation from the maw of socialists and try to right her path, to save what we can, to go out a shining beacon of hope to the rest of the world.

That, and Cox Cable screwed me so I have to watch the Rose Parade on ABC, which totally blows...

Let us hope that reason and sensibility and common sense return to this great nation this year. That a great sweeping of patriotism for all the right reasons cleanses some of the rot and decay from us.

And.. well... we just found out two of the reasons for the Dems fight against asking citizenry questions on the census. 1. NYC looks to lose a representative, most likely AOC's district, which has seen a loss of people since she took over, and 2. California looks to lose 2-4 representatives, from... the big cities. Not enough to stop the rot completely, but a good start. And to further bring hope, enough people have fled large cities that small towns and rural communities are actually gaining population and cities are leaking.

Of course, not all is good. Over at SNAFU, some chowdahead named Andrew got into flame wars with some idiots over Clint Eastwood praising Trump. Seems that many over at that website don't like old guys and don't understand the Electoral College was meant to balance the popular vote, still 3 years after Trump showed everyone exactly why the EC exists. Friggin morons. Here's a website discussing military stuff and these idjits have no understanding of how the American system works. Bah, Humbug!

    1. The ID-10-T population has grown in the last decade or so. May they learn the lesson as less of a cost then some generations had to pay. So they could go on being stupid.

    2. Stupid-stupid I can deal with. Active-Stupid just peeves me off. I mean, a bunch of young guys whining about old people (Trump, Pense, McConnell) ruling their lives while supporting young people like Pelosi, Feinstein, Biden, Warren, Sanders, Clinton(s) and so forth.

And whining about how the city populations should control the nation. Because feelings and stupidity.

      ON A MIL BLOG?!?!?!?!?!?!

Note to self: Develop technology to be able to reach through the computer screen and slap the idiots around until I feel better.

    3. Ignorance is bliss for those asshats. Have all the answers they think. In reality they don't know shit from Shinola. Hey, that sounds like a good idea Beans. The reach through the screen and slap somebody thing, I like it.

    1. The aircraft are Turkish, apparently attacking targets in Syria. The lead jet is carrying the Turkish SOM cruise missile. The trail bird is carrying the Israeli Popeye missile. I thought the picture was excellent, regardless of the nationality of the aircraft, it's still a Phantom.

    2. I had the same question. Suspected the Turks but wondered where they stole the Popeyes. Turns out they bought them. Need to have my middle eastern realignment realigned. Old people who don't watch teevee miss stuff.

    3. I did some poking myself. Yup, not watching TV causes one to miss stuff. But I hear things, then research them. Get more truth that way, least that's what I tell myself!

  11. My favorite low pass has always been the Spitfire coming in from behind.

  12. Good stuff here. Took me for-evah to figure out the glasses. Only thing that beats an F-4 low pass is an F-14 supersonic "sneak attack" from behind when the VIP's are fixated on a tanker drag. Depends on the diet of course, but the stains don't always wash out.

  13. One of the funner missions was always low level entry and snap up with a blue blivot. My friend in the back seat (no doubt he made O-6 because of my mentoring), would work the throttles to keep us at whatever the speed was to be - 475-500KIAS. To my shame I never gave it much thought as to what we were learning to do. Shows how dumb O-2s came be when challenged to burn gas and make noise in the name of freedom.
