In other news, the Muse seems to have run off.
Said something about a boat.
Can't say I blame her ...
I have always loved this song.
I'll be back, in my own sweet time.
Got a lot of stuff on my mind lately, makes it hard to be creative.
Though I try.
Friend of mine is struggling with cancer.
A member of our extended family suffered a massive heart attack, he lasted a week before he passed. A week ago today.
Life comes at you fast. Enjoy it while you can.
I'm going to do some of that for a bit.
Stay frosty my friends.
Things can get overwhelming at times.
Cherish those you're close to, they aren't always going to be there.
Yep Sarge.....tomorrow isn't guaranteed to anyone, grab ahold of your loved ones and tell them that.
ReplyDeleteAmen.
DeleteI'll see if my muse will step up, been lazy of late, ideas, no actual writing.
ReplyDeletePlanning a trip back to see my mother (been a couple years). Also planning a day or two to just sit and fish with a cane pole, at a couple spots I haunted as a kid.
No worries, if there's nothing to post, then so be it.
DeleteStory Sent, not what I'd planned, but I think it will fill a space.
DeleteI'll take a look at it. Thanks.
DeleteReal life comes before internet life. May God bless you and yours, grant you all salvation, peace, and contentment. Do all the "I'd like to try that some day" things you and The Missus have been putting off until ""Someday" comes along.
ReplyDeleteWe don't really put things off, just that sometimes we get caught up in mundane stuff.
Delete"Life is short, do it now" is both true and a nice idea...
ReplyDeleteAlways.
DeletePrayers Up, Sarge.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow is indeed not promised to any of us by life. Were we to truly grasp this, how much more likely we should be to spend our time on that which matters instead of that which passes with the wind.
I tend to live in the here and now, because, as you say, tomorrow is not promised.
DeleteI'm with ya on unexpected losses and cherishing what ya got.
ReplyDeleteMy old roommate and best friend beat lung cancer about 2 years ago, albeit losing one third of one of them. About 2 weeks ago he got flu which turned to pneumonia and went in 3 days. Career USAF Herc driver and Vietnam vet, but he escaped those threats unscathed, only to have bugs get him.
Maybe time to rerun the bios of some on your hero wall.
JB
Not a bad idea.
DeleteSarge,
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your friend! Unexpected death for whatever reason is hard to take. Hang in there. You and he are in our prayers.
juvat
Thinking more of his family. He had four kids, ten and under.
DeleteWell, didn't know that. They're added tobthe top of the list.
Deletejuvat
Thanks, juvat.
DeleteMaybe your muse is taking time off as a hint...
ReplyDeleteSorry about your friend and family. Seems to be going around as I have the same situation. It sure would be nice to find out if there are methods of treating cancer and heart issues that don't involve big med and big pharma. I have hope for RFK Jr allowing some more transparency into what I am starting to believe is Insurance, HMOs, Docs, and Rx companies lying to us just so they can make money, at the expense of our health, vice the benefit to it.
Could be.
DeleteAs to the latter portion of your comment, covid made me mistrust the government, the medical profession, and big pharma. Bunch of lying ....
I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers up for his family...kids under ten...that is just beyond sad.
ReplyDeleteSuz
Heartbreaking.
DeleteDeath comes to us all. I lost a good friend two weeks ago. Her funeral was last Saturday. Her daughters are grown and on their own, but they are devastated. We had plans for mischief, but her body was just done. So definitely tell everyone that you love and appreciate them. Send the flowers now!
ReplyDeleteMy condolences.
DeleteNever hesitate to let the ones you love know it.
