At The Movies

Donald Sutherland, Clint Eastwood, and Telly Savalas in Kelly's Heroes (YouTube screen capture)
One of my favorite movies of all time, Kelly's Heroes, popped into the old brain box today while scraping a couple of brain cells together for to patch together a post of some kind for this very day.

Whilst perusing the Book of Face, I came across a post from a buddy of mine, one ORPO1 as we calls him in the blog world (we calls him Glenn when we're riding aircraft carriers). Said chap provided a link to some little known facts about the aforementioned film. You can read that here. You can also watch the clip provided below.

As you may guess, The Muse seems to be on this...

Today is the last day of Christmas vacation, tomorrow it's back to the salt mines, er, work, yes, I mean work. Back to the place where I am gainfully employed, doing fulfilling work for the betterment of...

Cui bono?  Who's to say? I have determined to be less judgmental in 2016. So far it's working, except when I'm in the car, then all bets are off.

Anyhoo.

Movies, yes, Kelly's Heroes. If you haven't seen it, get thee to a video emporium and pick up a copy. It's a classic.

Okay, not a classic like A Streetcar Named Desire or maybe Gone With the Wind but it's...

Okay, okay, I have rambled, strayed, and perhaps even digressed. Here's that Kelly's Heroes clip I promised...

If you see my Muse, tell her she better be available Monday night, or Tuesday if Tuna shows up to do his semi-weekly, when the mood strikes him, and the creek don't rise post. It's in his contract, he can post whenever he feels like it. Juvat has the same clause and...

Heck, the way things are going Juvat will probably call in sick this week. He's really been carrying me for a couple of weeks now. His Te Papa post has climbed into the Top Five posts of all time here at The Chant, with 2,145 hits and still climbing. Hhmm, most of those hits are coming from Australia and New Zealand, go figure.

Anyhoo, I have a few new computer games to explore. Be seeing you...

Torpedo los!

  1. I'll be there. Murph triggered this week's post.

I was wondering where all those visits were coming from.

Tomorrow will be a two-fer. We updated the food service software over the holidays as well as the time clock software. What could possibly go wrong? Other than the kids don't get fed and the employees don't get paid, of course. Ah Well!

    1. 1) Whew! The way mu Muse has been acting up I was worried, knowing that the 3rd was "back to school" for you.

      2) Yeah, seems you struck a chord with Te Papa, one of your best yet. The best according to the stats.

      3) Ouch! Two software updates? Warning! Danger Will Robinson!

    2. Amazon is saying those games are XP/Vista only! Did you miss an update?

    3. I'm still running Vista. I'm kind of a Luddite that way.

    4. I'm pretty sure I'm sticking with Win 7 and Linux Mint. Win 10 "enhancements" are unacceptable IMHO.

    5. I use Win 7 and various varieties of Linux at work. I don't really mind either.

Vista drives me nuts from time to time but it's tolerable. It came with the computer.

  2. Kelly's Heroes may be in the top five best war movies of all time. Great mix of authenticity and whimsy. Oddball is my favorite. Think I'll go drink some wine, eat some cheese, and catch some rays.

    1. It's a standard line I use when frustrated. Even when it makes no sense.
