Returning to Base

(Source)

As I mentioned before, a very short turn around. One day down, two days on station, then one day back.

We shall see what December brings, that would make five months in a row. I don't mind, the feline staff certainly might.

We shall see.

I'll be back in these spaces on Tuesday, need to find out what's happening in the Hürtgenwald don't we?

Be seeing you...

  1. Be safe on the way back.

When I was a kid, those Phantoms ran on coal, you could see the dark trail behind them for a ways... I miss seeing those in the air...

    1. Yes, but...being able to be seen for a long ways is NOT a good thing in fighters.

And...Thank you Sir! I've been sitting at the computer wondering what the heck I was going to talk about tomorrow.

    2. STxAR - Mission accomplished, touch down was at 1540 local. Traffic was tolerable, only almost got killed once, roger that on the Phantoms. Also, thank you for inspiring Juvat. 😁

    3. Juvat - Being seen is bad in most, if not all, military situations!

  2. Drive safely sir.

Of note, I often find the feline staff is put out by such things.

    1. They are, though I wasn't gone long enough to get the really disapproving looks.

  3. I’m not sure what’s been happening, but I am sure lots of people have been getting Hürt.

    1. The video was shot at March Air Reserve Base, according to the person who posted it. Not sure on the still shot.

  5. Do Phantoms do anything quietly?

Enjoy the return trip. May your travels go smoothly.

And take your time. The Forest waits...

    1. Up until they fly over, at Mach, they are stealthy. If you don't notice that long smoke trail that is.

In Juvat-land you would see them from way off, up here in the forest, SURPRISE!!!

  6. 500+ miles in a car can be pretty exhausting, like you need a vacation once you get back from vacation, probably even more so since it was such a quick turnaround. Welcome back and get to work. I may help with the workload.

    1. I'm good, taking Monday off, but if you've got something for "Tuna Tuesday," that's great. You may fire when ready Gridley.

  7. Hey AFSarge;

Have fun on the return trip, and watch for the revenueers, LOL I wonder how the Phantom would do with updated powerplant and avionics if she could dogfight with the gen 4 or gen 5 fighters? Just wondering...

  8. Do you know what I love Sarge. You don’t know what’s going to happen anymore than we do right now in the Hürtgenwald 😁😁😁

Just be polite... that's all I ask. (For Buck)
