It's a travel day today as we head back to Little Rhody. Going to miss playing with the grandkids and hanging out with The Nuke and Tuttle. But there's ponds that need cleaning and grass that needs cutting and ...
I have a cleaning appointment at my dentist on Wednesday. I'm really glad that they make it a habit to call to remind folks as I had completely forgotten. So I've got that going for me.
Note the opening photo, Old Glory is something I still believe in. I am so sick of the name calling and the bitching and moaning which accompanies modern politics and what some people think passes for "discussion."
Believe what you will, I really don't care. Do your job, support and defend the Constitution and please, please, please, just STFU.
I don't care what you believe and I'm not going to belabor you with what I believe. You simply cannot conceive just how badly things have gone downhill in the past few decades. I really do blame the MSM, create a 24-hour news cycle, then you better fill it.
I've always believed that 75% of the world's population isn't all that bright, easily led dontcha know, and that applies to every single organization, clan, country, tribe, and what-have-you on every speck of inhabitable land on this here rock floating in space.
Not bad people, just too many who either can't think for themselves or don't know how. You know, the stupid.
Maybe I'm a pessimist but hey, "Lighten up, Francis." And, most importantly ...
"Get off my lawn."
There are days I almost decide to chuck this whole internet thing and return to blissful ignorance.
Retirement allows me the time to enjoy myself, don't bother me Chicken Little, the sky ain't falling and if it is, it's probably because you're trying to sell me something.
Park's closed, moose out front should have told you.

Soon.
Loose lips sink ships and watched pots never boil.
Damn, just lighten up people, enjoy life and stop trying to be a pain in everyone else's ass. Both sides!
Be seeing you.

Carry on.
Haven't watched the MSM news programs for years, blood pressure thanks me for that, there are other means of keeping up with national/international news. Grass is greening up good here which means weeds! Time to go get that fishing license, bought a lifetime couple of decades ago, clean off reels and put new line on a couple......can't wait, opener is May 10th!
ReplyDeleteYup, I go with "other means." Now if I could get some Facebook folks to calm down, all would be well.
DeleteI usta keep a skunk out front to advise visitors, but even that didn't work: the visitors smelled worse than the skunk.
ReplyDeleteIt is known.
DeleteHave a safe trip home! See ya (well…read ya) tomorrow!
ReplyDeletejuvat
Mission accomplished, the (bald) eagle has landed.
DeleteSafe travels...
ReplyDeleteIt is done, all personnel and equipment survived.
DeleteYeah, tooth fairy visit tomorrow, so you gotta go straight home. Next time why not plan on a diversion to some historic point of interest somewhat out of the way. Might necessitate an overnight stay on the way home, but heck, you've got time, so do what YOU and THe Missus want, not just be a bus driver to get from point A to point B.
ReplyDeleteAlso, books on tape are a great way to work thru your backlog of reading. Not everything is on tape, but some you really want to read might be. And, there are tons of mindless fluff entertainment as alternatives to real history, or even historical fiction. I should send a book report on two that I recently enjoyed.

What he just said...
DeleteJB - I can't listen to anything but music while driving, often not even that if I'm in traffic. Hurts my SA.
DeleteAs to historic points of interest, I'm making a list (checking it twice ..).
Rob - See above.
DeleteInstead of MSM, I've been following The Free Press, which is very center-right. Although the right might just come from the craziness on the other side. Good in-depth stories. Highly recommended.
ReplyDeleteI dine at many tables, some a bit left, okay, some a lot left.
DeleteGotta see both sides, the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
