Heh. I'm well and truly agnostic on this one, at best. I suppose I SHOULD root for Navy, bein' the father of a Squidly Sort. But I just CAN'T. It ain't in me. ;-)
Well you've got ONE sailor in the family. I have FIVE, one of whom is USNA '04. So I'm locked into this.
But sitting here post-game, Navy winning 17-13, my heart goes out to those West Point kids. Eleven straight losses to Navy. Damn! I have a high school buddy who's retired Army, West Point class of 1975. Yes, he's bummed about the losing streak.
How all I can say regarding college ball is "Go Notre Dame!"
My Dad (USN, Korea) instilled into me, at an early age, a rooting interest for Navy in this game. Still, I think, deep in my heart, I was rooting for Steelman to drive to that touchdown.

I understand your position, Sarge, but I'd shoot myself if all my kids were Squids. ONE is bad enough, yanno? ;-)

ReplyDeleteYeah, I know what you mean. I almost wanted Steelman to take it in too. "Almost"
