Might check in, might not, no doubt I will be busy.
Busy trying not to get in the way of wedding prep that is...
While I am taking my trusty tablet, I'll make no guarantees...
Talk quietly amongst yourselves, feel free to go semi-wild in the comments.
Behave though, or I'll unleash the Rhino.
Catch you on the flip side!
*Yeah, yeah, not a Juvat, I know.
Whachu doin postin pictures of that OTHER squadron? And Landing after a Cope Thunder Maverick mission. You must have been in a heckuva hurry, not to
ReplyDeleteTo photoshop a yellow fin flash on it.
Well, I knew by the tail number that it wasn't a Juvat. That's my story and I'm sticking with it...
DeleteThe tail number gave it away for me also. Still it brought back some memories.
DeleteI thought it might, did for me as well.
DeleteI hate commenting from an iPad
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain, brother!
DeleteThat's so a 1st world problem.
DeleteHere I am, with a laptop that's over 3... years... old.... waaaaaaah...
My computer is 6, Beans. The iPad is 4 and my iPhone is an iPhone 7. All stoneaged in this digital era. So....get back on that newfangled laptop and get something posted. Sarge is off the net and I'm raiding his you know what. I hope he's got good Single Malt Scotch there.
DeleteYup, 1st World problems. I'm stuck with IE on my tablet. It's like sending smoke signals...
DeleteBTW, I have arrived safely in the DC area. For those of ya keeping track.
DeleteWas I not supposed to put the single malt in the SCIF?
I'll see your SCIF and raise you one of those big gas-engined circular saw thingies. Or detcord or that shaped charge cutting line stuff.
DeleteHahaha!
DeleteDC. "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy." Hat tip to Obi-Wan Kenobi.
DeleteJohn,
DeleteBTW got your suggestion and it arrived yesterday. Gave it a perfunctory trial today and gonna go whole hog tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion.
juvat. You're welcome.
DeleteHow did a couple of drunk guys with cameras get on the runway? I thought Air Force security was tough? Those guys are falling down like sailors waiting for the liberty boat back to the ship.
ReplyDeleteI think the guy on the left took a dive. I think the guy on the right got assistance into the prone position. I strongly doubt that pass began from a takeoff roll, so I'd estimate about 450-500K. Lots of air being moved out of the way.
DeleteAs to AF security being tough? Got nothing good to say. But then, that was before three wars. Maybe they've gotten better/more serious. One hopes.
Judging from the size of their lenses, they are either proish amateurs or were based in Korea or Japan and had fun at the local establishments buying things without the huge markups over here in the states (everyone I ever knew that was posted in Asia always came back with a metric boatload of stereo gear and camera stuff, especially if they were either TDY or were bachelors when posted.)
DeleteOh yeah, Juvat, that wasn't any takeoff roll. I'd have loved to have been there. Hope I'd "represent" a bit better though...
DeleteI'll defer to Rick Lobbes on the relative effectiveness of USAF security. I will say this, SAC did not screw around. Ever.
DeleteThat reminds me... there was an air show at Mather last weekend.
ReplyDeleteMB went with the grandkids wile I prepped for a birthday celebration.
The “Blues” were the demo team.
MB bought the birthday boy a tee with all of the aircraft they’ve flown since their inception.
That would be a pretty good birthday present, Skip.
DeleteA really good birthday present.
DeleteOf course, a great present would be a shirt with all the Thunderbirds on it (gotta keep pride in my dad's service, especially since they first flew the F-84G, like my dad did.)
Cool either way (Navy or Air Force.)
An awesome gift!
DeleteSo Beans, how about the Blues on one side of the shirt and the 'Birds on the other? Works for me!
Works. And you can put the Army Helo team on the back.
DeleteHow about the Golden Knights? (I like them too.)
DeleteBeans. I didn't know the Army still had a Heliograph team. :)
DeleteNot any more...but back when Sarge was in the Army Air Corps.....
DeleteHahaha!
DeleteGee, about time, how can we miss you if you won't go away, pictures or it didn't happen, happy trails, safe home, yada yada...
ReplyDeleteSeriously, if you (OAFS) are finally gone, have a good time.
That statement made sense in MY head.
For all those out there in Northern California, I hope you're doing well, and have some sort of backup power.
Did you see this map over at Old NFO's? What a coincidence that Sacramento will experience Zee-F'ing-ro outages, while surrounding counties will be in the 10's of thousands!
DeleteSarge said to go wild in the comments, sooo...Whatsa deal with norcal power outages? I'm too skeptical to look at the news and too lazy this morning to dig for valid info. Also had power out here for a while due to first howling snowstorm of the year. Of course our "grid" out here in the sticks is rather primative...
DeletePeople get the government they vote for, just sayin'...
DeleteBTW, there are varying levels of wild, I'm not sure we're ready for airedale corpsman wild. ;)
DeleteOh, how about stupid squire tricks?...
DeleteI was hoping...
DeleteAll my California kids affected by PGE's bankruptcy power outages. A poor way to think they can save some money. No outages in the city and county of San Francisco. Go figure!
DeleteWell, we'll keep them in our thoughts and prayers D4. I agree that is a pretty crappy way to run a business...or a government.
DeleteBest wishes to all concerned.
ReplyDeleteThanks WSF!
DeleteWeddings can be great fun. Pretty people, open bar, close familial get-togethers, open bar, commitment demonstrated, open bar, dinner and dancing on the open bar. Raw eggs, tomato juice, tabasco and gin from the open bar. What could possibly go wrong?
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time. I loved my kid's weddings and all those I officiated at. Congratulations all around, Sarge et al.
Thanks Dave!
