The Storm Has Passed

Morning...
Woke up this morning to blowing snow and visibility down to just a few yards. It looked really cold out, so I went back to bed.

When I got up it looked like that opening photo. Better but not great.

Still and all, there were walks to be shoveled, cars to be cleaned off...

I swear the top of that trash can was clean on Thursday!

Hey look! We still have a mailbox!

My little beer garden is overwhelmed by all this frozen stuff!

The sun is out, the sky is clearing. No clouds means bitter cold tonight!

The Forecast.

Minus three overnight, that's without the wind chill. More on Wednesday.

Wonderful, just wonderful.

Now I know why bears hibernate.

    1. I like to call these views, "Spring in Michigan."

Seriously, I know what it gets like there. Spent 2014 New Year's there. Cold. I think it snowed every day.

  2. This is when you go Redneck sleddin'. Just need a 4-wheel drive, a bit of rope and the hood from a '49 Dodge. Git-er-done!!!!

  4. Spent the day in the Peoples Republic of Austin today watching my daughter finish her first marathon. Very proud of her for finishing and even more proud of her for staying with her friend after her friend couldn't continue running and had to walk.

It was a balmy 62 degrees.

Not sure why bears hibernate in Rhode Island, but I'm pretty sure that temperature is why there are Winter Texans.

    1. I know some folks who live in Minnesota in the summer, Texas in the winter.

So yes, I've heard of "Winter Texans."

    2. Interesting, the guests we have in our B & B for the next 2 weeks are from Minnesota. Coincidence? I think not! Do I owe you a referral fee?

    3. Nah, I like to think that we're a "full service" blog. Read our stuff, stay at Juvat's B & B, tell all your friends. No extra charge.

  5. You got all the snow our wxman threatened us with! Our "up to 17" inches fell short by about 16.8. Sompin' wrong with that feller.

  6. Point 2 inches? That would be a snow emergency down here! There wouldn't be any milk in the stores and people would be fighting over a can of beans.

    1. Then day before a snowstorm, Rhode Islanders flock to Stop and Shop and stock up on enough milk and bread to last a week.

Of course, by the afternoon after the storm everything is open for business. I guess they all remember the Blizzard of '78, which was bad, very bad.

  7. I won't tell you what we have here, but I would be willing to wager we would settle for something like an average, mean, or median.

    1. So you folks still aren't getting enough rainfall? That's bad!

Just be polite... that's all I ask. (For Buck)
