I was ten.

All I really remember is how upset all the adults were.

What I remember from a few years later is what stayed with me.

That was no fairy tale.

There was no "Camelot".

Vietnam was real.

US Casualties in Vietnam
Dead                58,209
Wounded      153,303
Missing              2,489

That's what I remember...

The DiploMad tells it better than I can.

  1. Well said, just watched the idolization continue on TV and was so glad to read DiploMad and know I am not alone in my beliefs that the perpetuation of the myths of Camelot have harmed our country in innumerable ways.

    1. You are definitely not alone.

Some things are best examined through the stone cold eyes of history.

  2. I often wonder if he was not murdered if JFK might have not escalated into that mess. LBJ forced the issue.

    1. I too ponder the "might have been" from time to time.

Just be polite... that's all I ask. (For Buck)
