An Unpleasant Topic

As I am sure you all are aware, the US military, under orders by President Trump, bombed 3 of Iran's nuclear facilities Saturday.

My response?  Good.

Why?

Iran has been at war with The Great Satan the moment that feckless idiot Carter engineered the downfall of the Shah and the release of Khomeini.  The moment, after seizing power, that odiferous weirdbeard got a microphone in front of his face he called out for our destruction.

Members of the military and security police, not-so cleverly disguised as 'students,' invaded our sovereign soil, that being the US Embassy in Tehran.

Members of the Iranian military have shot at our planes.  They've shot at our ships.  They've taken sailors captive.

Members of the Iranian military and their proxies like the Houties have killed our citizens and our military personnel, injured our citizens and our military personnel, all over the Middle East.

Since 1979, Iran has almost daily called for the death of The Great Satan.  Weekly are reports, not reported in US media of course, that Iran has and is calling for jihad against the US.

Carter, Clinton, Obama and whomever was running the Autopen for Biden basically paid tribute to Iran to not attack US personnel, assets and interests and to not build nukes.  How'd that work out for us?

President Trump has put his foot down.  Actually made a line in the sand that he'll stick to, unlike Carter, Clinton, Obama and Biden's handlers.

The fact that nobody high up in the US government took any of the threats by Iran seriously is astounding.  Looking at you, US State Department.  But what do you expect from a government organization that was complicit in the coverup of the Holomodor in the Ukraine by Stalin, and was pretty much bought by Stalin according to its own internal reports, of which Senator McCarthy based his commie hunt on.

Hat tip to Joe McCarthy for being right.  Man's one of those unsung heroes. Makes me wonder how much of his loathsomeness was fakery and humbug by the owned-by-the-KGB US press and in Hollywood.

Back to Iran, I've seen way too many people on blogs and twitter and in not-news blurps act all shocked and horrified that we dared attack the peace-loving government of Iran.  And that we're being controlled by our masters in Jerusalem.

Bah!  Feckless idiots.

This is like when your kid, after being bullied all year long at school while the teachers and administrators look the other way, finally pushes back in order to get out of a tight spot and he/she gets suspended and potentially expelled.  What?  What about all the documented cases of bullying?  The cell phone videos?  The cafeteria ladies who back-channel you with information?  Yet you and your family are wrong for standing up to the bully?

That's the way the rest of the world and a lot of our own news media are looking at this.

Seriously, since High School I have heard from Iran's government and many Iranians (the not-Shah supporting refugees) that they will destroy us and they are at war with us.

Well, if it's war they want, it's war they'll get.

Does anyone believe that Iran, after stating for 30 years that they'll use nukes against Israel and Us, won't use said nuclear weapons against us?

As President Thomas Jefferson Robert Goodlow Harper said regarding tributes to the Barbary Pirates, "Millions for defense, not one cent for tribute."*

Discuss.  Feel free to call me an idiot and a warmonger.  Or support my stance, or have your own stance that fits somewhere on the scale of "Beans is an idiot - to - Beans is right" or even past either sides of said scale.

* I always believed that President Jefferson, since he was the one to authorize the expedition against the Barbary Pirates, which led to that whole "Shores of Tripoli" that the Leathernecks sing about and the firing of the USS Philadelphia by Lt. Stephen Decatur, was the one who said that.  My bad.  It was Robert Goodlow Harper.  He even got a town/city in Liberia named after him.  Amazing man.

  1. On the subject of "feckless idiots," I'm certain Obama was most sorely vexed by this. After all, he paid good American tax dollars to have Iran develop nuclear weapons for the destruction of Israel and to attack western civilization.

People forget that the mohammedean theocracy demands that the entire Earth come under its beneficent rule. To that end followers, well True Believers, of that ideology have been at war with the rest of the world since the early 7th century. And you don't find truerer believerers than the leaders of Iran.

    1. People, thanks to the lack of education and full-up avoidance of the truth in our schools, forget or don't know that Islam states there are only two parts of the world. The lands of Islam - Dar al Islam. And the lands of war - Dar al Harb.

Which the representatives of the Barbary Pirates were happy to tell President Jefferson's representatives when asked why said Barbary Pirates were attacking US shipping and enslaving US sailors.

The mad mullahs of Iran have been calling for our blood since they rose to power after the downfall of the Shah thanks to Carter. And we've paid tribute to those jackwagons during every democratic presidency including and since Carter.

    1. Thanks. The "feckless, useful idiots" ignore world history. Invasion of Spain, invasion of France (Tours, anyone?), Sicily, Vienna, the Balkans, Constantinople, piracy on the Med, kidnapping and murder of Christians on pilgrimage to the Holy Land, etc. "Oh! But the CRUSADES!" Yeah, "the Crusades" were a reaction to the predation of the mohammeneans.

As to what you said, Joe, yes, double yes, especially about the Crusades. Islam has been at war with Christianity (and every other religion) since, well, since the very beginning of Islam. 3. "Means, motive, opportunity." The government of Iran are provably psychopaths. They have cells in every major port and country. They stated that they want to destroy the West in general and the US in particular. Those are motive and opportunity. All that they lacked was the means.

Now that has been pushed back 10 years unless China or Russia sells them one...or if they have a regime change that is reasonable.

  5. You nailed it. I figured he would have given them about two weeks. I was a little off. We now need to walk away and let Israel dismantle the rest of the Iranian government.

My time in SWA ha led me to believe there are 3 types of muslims. The fanatical who will strap a bomb on their children to go kill and maim infadels, the ones that support the fanatical but call themselves moderates who loyally practice the faith while supporting the fanatics, and the majority who put up the false facade of being muslim because they are scared of the moderates and fanatics.

    1. We and Israel need to push just hard enough that the Iranian people dismantle the rest of the Iranian government.

Sadly the pool of the majority has been getting smaller and smaller every year while the tacit and open support for the fanatics has been growing.

And, well, the muslim world has been at war with the US since we came into being. Jefferson put the kabosh on open actions for a while, but thanks to lack of education of the American people, not a lot of the other struggles are well known. Like the Philippine Insurrection by the Moros. That would be the radical muslim Moros that are still, to this day, giving trouble to the Philippine people.

  6. Time will tell. I wonder where our ships, plane and aircraft were when they got shot at by Iranian military? Parked in Dover AFB maybe?

Plenty of stupidity and arrogance on both sides here. Plenty of provable psychopaths in the DC area.

We did the Regime change that created the Ayatollah, we did the regime change that created Saddam, Noreiga in Panama and even Kaddafi. I was at JFK Center Ft Bragg as a medic when I met two of them. We trained them.

What's our success rate at world "improvement"?

That Trump clearly told us it was for the defense of Israel makes the founding fathers roll over in their graves. Who runs Barter town AKA DC? Senator Cruz was just saying the quiet parts out loud to prepare American for the "Surprise Party".

Did we learn nothing from the Hothi expedition? Airpower didn't stop even that pitiful band of thugs from launching missiles (like they are doing right now) at our greatest ally (USS Liberty). Could anybody show this dumb medic what Israel has ever done for the USA? Dates and links might be refreshing.

I wonder how long before "Remember the Eisenhower" replaces "Remember the Maine". False Flags are wonderful for enraging Patriots to put on those boots. Sorry guys this is from a Medic that has picked up bloody rags that once were kids where we fought the "War on Terror". Seems we never get to close that war out with Blood Feuds created by every family destroyed by our "successful bombings".

It's almost sterile from the cockpit of a warplane, isn't it? Even more sterile when it's CNN LIVE REPORTS.

It's been generations since America had warfare on our soil. Maybe soon enough we will remember it like they did in Sherman's march through Georgia. Given our current social instability with political violence (see ICE and such for details) on the rise I ponder what adding sleeper cells (real or False Flag NO MATTER) to that gasoline-soaked mess.

I bet the loudest posters are not going to be putting on boots for the real defend Israel party but when it comes home (AND I PRAY I'M WRONG HERE) it will be as personal as that pile of bloody rags that once was your child, just like the dirt people we've watched in CNN.

Israel is about the size of New Jersey. When was the last internal terror attack (non-missile) according to Jewish News? About a week ago.

Despite having soldiers all around the cities. Despite having armed civilians. Despite surveillance at what looks like NYC levels. Decades of terrorism of various levels.

Going to be painful IF we get war inside our country.

We installed most of our enemies as friendly governments over the decades.

What is our success rate Boat Guy?

I've read your postings often enough. Your bright and articulate.

Can you tell me what our greatest ally did for America? Links might be nice.

    5. Oh, no argument that it's gonna be painful; if you haven't read Kurt Schlichter's "The Attack" it's a fair description of what it would be like. But beg to differ that Israel has "armed civilians"; they do not in the sense that we have armed civilians. Even after Oct 7th Israel failed to truly arm their populace; A mere pistol permit is still ridiculously difficult to get and the government's sole adjustment was to magnamiously allow " double" the ammunition a civilian can possess from 50 to 100 rounds.
We, on the other hand have thousands of trained, equipped and experienced people who can and will defend hearth and home.
I'm not gonna debate foreign policy over my lifetime;I've disagreed with most of it. I do NOT however disagree with taking out Iran's nuclear program.

    6. I have a friend who, well, is mostly dead emotionally from the Beirut bombing.

We've had navy ships attacked in international waters. We've had our sailors captured by Iranians in international waters. Iran has been directly linked to the death of US citizens in the Middle East, not just servicemembers but civilians.

How much action against the US is too much to ignore? What's the minimal amount of US deaths that are justification for military action?

Have you ever read Heinlein's "Starship Troopers"? Which isn't about fighting, per se, but about why we fight.

As to taking out their nuclear program, they've declared, since Khomeini first took power, that their main goal is the destruction of The Great Satan, by conventional and nuclear means. How long should we have waited before doing anything about their nuclear weapons program? After one of our ports goes up in nuclear flames?

BTW We were in Beirut to project power to protect our best ally. There was no freedom of sea Barbary pirate issues involved.

But THEY HATE US. Look how close they build their nation to OUR BASES.

    11. Once again I say that Iran's been at war with the US since Khomeini came to power thanks to Carter and the French.

Iran's current base of their government is to bring the world (Dar al-Harb, lands of war) into the fold of their version of islam (Dar al-Islam, lands of Islam) and especially death to the great Satan (the US of A) and little Satan (Israel)(of which they've continually attacked directly and indirectly through proxies since, oh, the day Khomeini came into power.

They seized our embassy. That's an act of war. They've shot at our ships in international waters. That's acts of war. They've seized our sailors in international waters. That's acts of war. They've fired on US bases not in Iran. Acts of war. They've targeted US citizens and military personnel who were not in Iran, both kidnapping and killing/wounding. Acts of war.

So you want to wake up to Israel and the US having canned sunshine pop off in our cities? Because Iran's leadership since Khomeini took power, has said that as soon as they get their grubby little hands on nukes, that's what they'll do. They'll try to destroy us and happily suffer the consequences if they can take us and Israel out.

And, really, Israel. The only nation in that area that allows people of all religions to be citizens and to serve in the military and the government. The only nation in that area that gives equal rights to women. So... evil that they do that. Definitely deserves killing...

Look at Israelis themselves, for all their fury and firepower, they still cant pacify Hamas in Gaza, coming close to 2 years since Yom Kippur 23.
Putin trying to thunder run Kyiv in 3 days, and nowhere near objective 3 years and million casualties later.
So Israel bombed the hell out of Irans air defences, missile and nuclear programs, and it still didnt stop Iran from retaliatory strikes which, this time , managed to penetrate deep into Telavivs heart and US has jumped in to finish the job.
As much as I am concerned, this is old , tried and tested - to fail - strategy: bomb someone into submission.
Ayatollachs get their martyrs - and Shia Islam is very big on idea of martyrdom.

I dont see easy solutions, and my optimistic estimate is war of attrition until Iran runs out of missiles, and pesssimistic one , is China starts bartering missiles for oil, so Iran can do it forever. Extreme pessimistic one, it escalates to Iran targetting oil/LNG terminals all over the gulf , locking down Hormuz, and triggering worldwide energy crisis. While US is self-sufficient in oil and gas, most of it allies, are not. Oh and Putin is salivating on the idea of world of $200 per barrel oil...

Iran has been calling for the destruction of both Israel and the US for over 40 years. When someone publicly and repeatedly calls for your murder, you should respect their intent and take appropriate measures to thwart them, unless you've got a death wish.

    3. The thing about Iran that isn't well known, thanks to our wonderful education system and our wonderful media (hwack-sptooie,) is that in most of the country there's a religious conversion going on, from various shades of islam to various shades of Christianity. The people have been wanting regime change and the removal of the fundamental boot on their neck for a while. We've blown good opportunities to give even tacit support of a new revolution against the mullahs.

Perhaps taking out their nuclear program, and Israel taking out pretty much the rest of their military, the people will be able, finally, to correct the government.

Yes, it's hard to stop the ball rolling once it's started. But Trump has shown he is in favor of pin-point rstrikes on targets that provide the maximum results. Like ginsu-ing Iranian Guard leaders.

Their nuke program has been pushed back 10-20 years. The modern processing equipment for nuclear material require a level of precision that is very hard to get unless said processing equipment is on a foundation that is directly attached to bedrock. Which takes time to build.

As for being easier to start wars than to end them, that is true. In this case we did not participate in the war starting, Iran did that in 1979, and we may (repeat MAY) have just started the beginning of the end. Had we not done so, then their obsession with nuclear escalation against us (and little Satan) was inevitable and utterly unacceptable. Best to kick the bully in the groin before they kill you.

The Korean War is still ongoing. Yes, we had a cease fire agreement signed, but technically, and sometimes literally, the war is still on. The Korean War Veteran's Association considers 30 days continuous or 60 days total served in the Korean Area as entitling the person to be a member of their association. So my dad, who got there after the main shooting was over, is a veteran. So is Juvat. So is OAFS.

Cease Fire is one of those big sounding phrases that means diddly. It only means what the sayer is meaning it to. Could be it means
'we need to stop killing each other but I want to save face.' It could mean 'I want to rebuild and consolidate what we've taken so stop shooting.' It could mean 'You stupid fool, you'll fall for this bullscat again and never learn, hahahaha.'
